Though this is a hostel, they do have excellent single rooms-even with a balcony. Doors will close at ten, but you can get in later from the back... Breakfast is hostel style, but quite good. On the other side of the street is the friendly pub-restaurant-cinema Liomel, with excellent Riegele- beer. It's a bit far from the station (about 25 minutes walk), but it's also very quiet.
- new facilities - quite - I felt save - clean - nice location - pretty good internet connection - fresh towels - flexible more then an hostel kind of hotel
- small sink in the bathroom - small TV - no sun-blind - at 6 am is nobody at the reception
Friendly and well organised.
We were on the 1st floor so got early morning noise from the kitchen.
Easy to find, clean with all basic necessities: comfortable bed & pillow, nice bathroom & towels, flat-screen TV, table with 2 chairs, windows that opened. GREAT WiFi!! Good breakfast.
NO elevator for guests, though the service elevator can be used for luggage. That was appreciated since we were on the 4th floor! Only a few parking slots, however, we easily found a free spot on the street nearby.
When booking I had overlooked the fact that Gästehaus slep was mainly a place for young people to stay. (I am a pensioner) and immediately thought that they would be noisy. Far from it. They were all very well behaved and quiet at night. The room was spotlessly clean. There was a wide selection of food for breakfast. If I go to Augsberg again it will be the first place I think of staying.
At first the bus/tram map of the city was difficult to understand but when I had got the hang of it it was easy to fund my way round town on public transport.
This place is no good. Our bedsheets were never changed for the week we stayed and they did not provide anything. We were treated like 5 year olds when we checked in. No elevator, 4th floor and restrictions as to not being allowed to drink a glass of wine in the room. It really is only a youth hostel and by no means a guest house. We feel ripped off. Unfriendly young staff with no respect for our age topped it off for us. Breakfast very basic and kitchen staff is watching you while you eat. If you want a nice time, this is the wrong place.
The staff-member at check-in (Dennis) was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he actually came outside to tell me I could check in early when he saw me just sitting there waiting. Nice breakfasts, nice big room with amazingly powerful shower. Good bicycle storage.
It was a bit hot in the room and, because I was next to a flat roof, I didn't feel comfortable having the windows wide all night. As long as you're not on floor 2 (or a lone female traveller) this probably isn't a problem.
low cost good location
parking space for guest
Within easy walk to center of Augsburg.
Parking was only available a kilometer away.
Close to city center
Checkin possible till 24h
A very nice and clean hostel, easy walking distance to the town center.
the car parking and the location pretty close to the city center
GasteHouse is in fact a YOUTH hostel, which is not clear on the site, very noisy and no lift for persons (only for unaccompanied luggage - which you have problems to collect at destination)
Fairly new facilities Very nice room Great value for money
- staff was totaly unflexible regarding parking
Very clean place with light and airy rooms, good breakfast
Mattress on beds is too thin with no box spring or cushion; almost felt like sleeping on a board
Close, to the center, quite, breakfast was fine.
Wi-Fi didnt work outside the lobby...no parking
Clean room. Very nice breakfast.
No parking in the area
Close to center Tasty breakfast Friendly staff
Bad noise isolation Youth hostel/dorm style Had to pay for parking
The Staff were nice and the breakfast was decent. Pretty varied for a youth hostel, unfortunately a couple of days a few things had finished at 7 already and they didn't seem to refill.
The beds are unbelievably uncomfortable!!! I was there for a five day course and slept really badly, so that it was even harder to concentrate in the hours of lectures. It got a bit better when I put the second duvet on top of the mattress. First I thought it was me cause I am a bit of a princess on the pea, and pregnant. But I slept in my friends Ikea-bed the days after and that was like heaven compared. So, I must say: the beds are really not good!!!! I wouldn't stay there again.
Kind people, clean, comfortable,silent
Wifi working ok only in reception area and with codes valid only for 6hrs, poor breakfast,no direct bus to the railway station,no lift for persons just for luggage
The location of the hotel, the breakfast wasn't bad and clean rooms.
WIFI only worked in the reception. No elevator and I stayed at 2nd floor. My bad was creaking every time I move. After 5am, the up stair floor was so louder with people walking and carring bags.
The cost and location were fantastic, as were all the staff.
The echoing of noisy doors down corridors
the price have to be less
Perfect facility for economical traveling. Breakfast had a good variety, and it was included in the price. Walking to places of interest was easy.
Could hear neighbors, but for what you got it was easily overlooked.
