Hotel Restaurant Löwen    

The location is lovely - a converted monastery in a quiet area, but an easy tram ride to the railway station and the historic part of the city. Our room was small (by American standards) but well appointed, and the bed was very comfortable. In a previous review I said there was nowhere to sit except the bed, but that was incorrect (a mixup with another hotel). There was a small desk area with a chair. The bathroom was also attractive and well equipped. Everything was spotlessly clean and seemed brand -new, although the building is hundreds of years old. The staff were pleasant and helpful, and although most of them spoke little English, they were nice about working with me and my broken German. The dining room is lovely, and I'm sure the outdoor dining area would be delightful in warmer weather (we were there in early April). The breakfast buffet was amazing! All in all, we loved this hotel and thought it was a great value, especially at the off-season rate.

Nothing, really. The wi-fi was a little erratic, but it worked well enough for us, and this place is not exactly catering to business travellers.

It was perfect Very nice room, to staf, etc etc When we are in region again we wil choose again for this hotel

Perfect location. Very cosy hotel and restaurantt. Friendly and serviceminded staff. Excellent breakfast and dinner.

Rooms were very modern, clean and comfortable. Staff were excellent, food was of a very high standard of local nature/sourcing.

Loved staying at the Hotel Lowen. The location was great and so picturesque. The hotel is a bit hidden away so it did take some investigating to find it. I loved the outside dinning and how quiet the area is at night. My room was perfect and I felt a great value. The resaurant is excellent and the value is good too. I will stay again if I am in Ulm!

The only thing even remotely negative was the sketchy wi-fi. But that was really minor when considering it with all the other really great things about staying at the Hotel Lowen.

The staff was extremely nice and the interior design was well done. We'd liked the location hidden in a small neighborhood slightly outside the city of Ulm. The restaurant and food were excellent.

It was a little challenging finding the hotel and the modern design of the bathroom layout left little to the imagination. Please leave your modesty at home.

Well executed recent renovation. Top quality furnished rooms.

Wireless Internet access was authorized in 6-hour blocks of on-line time. The inconvenence of having to log out whenever possible to conserve access time is really not necessary.

Nice room and well equipped with all the things you need. Breakfast was good.

Parking is very limited at the hotel as it is clearly not enough for all the rooms. No dinner possibility on sunday. The garden and the seats/tables on the photos are not to be enjoyed on sunday as most chairs are locked by chains and not usuable. It felt very uninviting. The person helping us was not very friendly and accordingly contradicts the feedback from other quests. Rating of +9 is too high for this hotel.

Very comfortable, very quiet at night, and very contemporary styling inside a beautiful old building next to an abbey - abbey surrounded by a little oasis of old buildings, but buildings outside that oasis not very attractive/industrial. Also food good (evening meal and breakfast) and staff went out of their way to lok after us.

No air conditioning so could be hot on a very hot night (windows open a little, but only a little)

Excellent stopover on journey from uk to Italy. Did not give excellent for location because difficult to find. However we enjoyed walking around the shops, cafes etc and strolling up the river and through the woods near the hotel.

Drom the time I arrived, although I spoke little or no German, I was made welcome and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Room was spotless, minimalist whilst retain the original convenet features. Breakfast, which was included was delicious and beautifully presented and meals in the restaurant were very reasonably priced and delicious. The hotel is a tram ride from City Centre, but located in mainstream German community so you get a feel for the way people live and work, without the hustle and hum of central Ulm. Deloghtful hotel and great value

Absolutely loved the combination of old & modern. The staff is so warm, gracious and accommodating, you never want to leave. The food in the restaurant was the best we found in Ulm. We tried some other places, but found we preferred the quality and service at our own hotel.

Would like a bit more clothes storage (drawers would be nice). Places to hang damp towels.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this Hotel. It was very convivial with the owners and staff going the extra mile for you whenever they could.

This is one Hotel that Michelin have missed. We regularly tour Europe and we would rate the Restaurant as a hidden gem.Really very, very good.

Well renovated and modenised biulding with plenty of charactor to the room.

Limited parking , picked hotel to be able to park but iwe had to park in the market square and move it in the morning Air conditioning would have made the stuffy night in the room more bearable

Very pleasant country-in-the-city location. Old fachwerkbauen timbered elements mixed with crisp modern design. A somewhat immodest toilet arrangement. Well-considered architectural and interior design detailing. Scrupulously clean. Very helpful staff. Like all things German, the breakfast is layered and multi-faceted. Most enjoyable. The property had a wedding party the night we stayed, so we had dinner next door, but I would expect that the restaurant is just as pleasant and agreeable as the rest of the inn. Sofflignen Tram 1, a short walk, takes you to the center of town (Hbf) and back every 10 minutes or so. Overall very pleasant and relaxing.

Excellent small hotel in a quiet square with good restaurant attached. Book a table if you want to eat outside in the summer - it gets busy and rightly so. Nice, helpful staff. A really good place to stay.

Very friendly reception and service throughout our stay. The hotel had been tastefully restored to perfection from the original monastery building. Very impressive. Our room was in the roof and the exposure of the treated original wooden beams was lovely if rather painful on the head for the taller of the two of us, particularly in the middle of the night... The food was excellent and there was more than enough choice at the breakfast buffet. We were pleased to have trouble free access to the internet so that we could further plan our journey from our laptop in the room.

Our room was rather small with no easy chair and the bathroom with it's opaque glass door being so close to the bed was rather off putting. But we managed for the two short days we were there and we didn't spend that much time in the room :-) For avid soccer fans such as my son & I, access to Sky would have been a big plus!

Excellent hotel, nice location, restaurant is excellent also, I'd a table book as it gets full ! I took a double room and found it large, clean and very spacious. all round a top hotel. Had some spare time so got an all day tram ticket €6.50, took 10mins to get into main centre, buy your ticket from the driver, this makes the hotel much more usable as its in a quiet location but with easy access to the city.

The only negative comment is service in the restaurant was slow, but it was busy, and no toast at breakfast. If that's all the is wrong for me then it's a good Hotel !

Zimmerkomfort sehr gut - empfehlenswertes Restaurant zu fairen Preisen. Auf Sonderwünsche wird flexibel reagiert. Die Umgebung mit Mühlbach und Klostergebäuden, sehr ruhig gelegen, strahlt Ruhe aus.

Vi nød vores ophold 100%, nyrenoveret hotel med en rigtig god restaurant. Morgenmaden er rigtig god og servicen er helt i top, personalet er søde og hjælpsomme. Vi kommer hel t sikkert igen.
