Louisa's Place

My husband and I spent 3 days at Louisa's Place. We travel frequently both on business and on holidays. This is one of the best hotels we have ever known. We paid just what was booked online, no hidden extra costs. The decoration is of very good taste, yet unpretentious. Wooden floor, very clean. Large comfortable bed. The house itself is an old solid building with limestone wide staircase. I liked walking down/upstairs instead of taking the lift (also very good, though) which was easy to do. The location is perfect for a weekend, surrounded by shops, a roaster of good restaurants and cafés but also book and other shops. The staff is extremely friendly as well as efficient. The restaurant is exceptionally good.

They could have an Internet room (maybe they have but we did not know). They do have WI-FI but that's not enough if one has not brought a laptop.

Apartments very nicely decorated and furnished. Kitchen area useful for breakfast and snacks. Sitting room good for relaxing and watching TV/DVDs, especially if you have children with you (which we did). Ideal location for sightseeing and shopping. Easy access to good public transport. Nice pool and spa.

I thought I had paid for the room, as this was what was stated on the original booking, so I was surprised to be charged an extra 56 euros for making up the sofa bed in the sitting room for my son. Although not a huge amount, it was the fact that this was not made clear in the booking.

Possibly the friendliest staff ever. Spa area was quiet at the weekend so felt like we had it to ourselves. We booked a suite, which was a very good size with a fully equipped kitchen. And the best were the fantastically comfortable beds. As the bedrooms have thick curtains and soundproofing - which many hotels don't get right - I slept like a log! Didnt take breakfast at the hotel restaurant (which looked very nice) as we made our own, but there are many options nearby.

Minor niggles only. The room wasnt ready when we were told it would be and we waited at least 30 minutes. Rooms have DVD players, but it would be nice if there were some DVDs in the hotel to rent/borrow. No bath - only shower. And in the spa sauna not very hot and no jacuzzi or steam area. But these were really minor downsides and didnt really affect our enjoyment of our stay. One other thing, although the location, on Ku'damm is great, it's a little distance from the real shopping area, and the metro station Adenauer Platz beside the hotel doesn't go anywhere useful. But the buses are frequent and regular so it was OK.

The pool was very good and we enjoyed it every day, some days more than once.

Location, Size of the room

The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The pillows !! They are feather and FAR too soft.They offer no support to the neck and there is only one per guest.My husband who is allergic to feathers had to ask for non allergenic ones and they were provided.

Separate rooms and two televisions in different rooms. Really good value for money.

Windows need to be open as it can get very hot in the summer, this can result in a lot of street noise from outside.

This was a peaceful quality hotel. For once it was nice to lodge with our family in one suite instead of two separate rooms. Location was central though peaceful.

As someone else mentioned in the ratings before, the blankets were indeed hot, and as we have allergic kids we always have problems with feather blankets/pillows... The breakfast was a bit pricy (though good) and kids had to pay half price, so you might consider having breakfast outside in one of the numerous cafes.

Very large rooms, good position even though the hotel is on the Ku Damm it was very quiet
