Very good,

“We loved the idea of the having artists design rooms and the idea that it used to be part of the Berlin Wall. It was quiet and centrally located and we loved our room and the walk-in closet. In 5 minutes we could be eating delicious food or take the U bahn at Friedrichstrasse.”

I stayed here 10 yrs ago and loved it! The history of the building, the unique idea to have german artists decorate the rooms individually , each one evokes a diff emotion! The staff are warm and always around for assistance , the free wifi in the rooms and lobby area is great! I like the idea of the tea and coffee vending machine at the reception for 1 euro....the decor is simple and minimalist without being boring! The breakfast is sumptous for a small charge! Otherwise step out and there are many lovely fresh orange juice and croissant places on the streets . Besides there are good manicure and hairdressers within 2 mins ! Tegel airport is 25 mins by taxi, the rail stn 5 mins by walk! So convieniently located to everything! One can see the fabulous glass dome of the Reichstag designed by Norman Foster frm the hotel and its a 10 min walk to Brandenburg gate. All this for a very fair daily rate! I will only stay here in future too! Nothing to dislike!

Nice idea to have each room personalized with a theme from a different artist. Friendly stuff, wifi working properly, quiet but close to the center. Breakfast should be included in the package, (11 euros to be paid apart) but fortunately there are some bars around offering low price breakfast menu, whee you can eat as much as you want.

Very casual, room decoration was quite original. Great location. Noisy, too many trains/metros passing by every 3 to 4 minutes. No air conditioning, so must be really bad in summer when you need to open the windows to get some air and to hear the trains all the time.

Wonderful hotel! Spacious, perfect location, helpful staff. Interesting artistic influences all around the hotel, not just in the rooms. (We were not at all disturbed by the proximity of the train line).

This is an "artist's hotel", meaning the whole hotel and even each room were designed and decorated by artists. Even though the hotel was in an old building from 1827, the atmosphere was quite cozy and attractive, and the facilities were renovated and modernized. The staff was very friendly and helpful---when I asked about information about the museum island, they even lent me a travel book to read during my stay. The location was great also---300 meters from the best sites of Berlin. Honestly, the regular price of this hotel was in the mid-high range. But with the special price I got for my room, I think it's well worth what I paid. Well, my room does not have a private bathroom, so I have to go to the public one in the corridor. But I was well informed before booking.

The concept is perfect. I had the simplest room, and it was cozy like in a friend's place. Next time I would choose a bigger room just to see how it looks like, hope it would worth the money as well. This option to get the cheapest room with shared shower is perfect and choose something posh next time in the same place is invaluable. Location near Friedrichstr. Is perfect. Both guys on the reception were rather polite than friendly. I haven't heard any excuses about missing elevator. I knew about that, but simple "hope your luggage is not heavy, unfortunately there's no elevator" would fit. I was allowed to check out 2 h later which was great, but when I asked a piece of advice where to have lunch around I was quite reluctantly offered to go in the direction of Friedrichstr, what could be more fun. When similar place opens in Berlin I would try it hoping for more cheerful people inside

Groovy style. Friendly, helpful staff There is no elevator (lift). I had some heavy luggage that we schlepped to the 2nd floor. The staff were quite ready to help, but it was an effort with two 32kg bags. Oof...

I was travelling to Berlin with a friend. For having different experience staying in different designed room, we book single room for each of us. So in two nights stay, we'd seen 4 rooms. Those rooms are fantastic. Will definitely stay there again if I travel to Berlin in future. P/S: very helpful staff and cheap price:)

I stayed here for two nights, loved the look of the place. My room was a single with a communal bathroom down the hall, about 35 euros a night. Small, but not tiny, nice big window, well heated, comfortable bed, strange, colorful face decorations. I think the cooler rooms are the more expensive ones, would love to go back and check out one of those. No elevator, 15 minute walk to train station. It's kind of strange how the street numbering works, 19 is directly across from 44 and 45....

Firts of all, we had very freindly hotel staff. They were always smiling, kind and help us if we needed it. I should mention that this hotel is very attractive and spesific in design! and I think this fact is great I had a very small room without stuff for cloths and it was not so good. I should locate my cloth on the floor

Good location, beautiful hotel with nice sayings written on the wall. Every room has pieces of art on the wall. One of the two showers didn't work properly and the bed was uncomfortable. Breakfast is 11 euro which is way too expensive.

Friendly and helpful staff. The hotel fully lived up to it's image as an art hotel. The double room was imaginativily equiped with an artistic installation. The location was excellent for my visit in central Berlin. Breakfast was standard fare, nothing exceptional, but perfectly adequate. And served by friendly waitress. I would stay there again.
