very good breakfast, free parking, staff was extremely nice and helpful with everything we needed
wifi did not work, there was nobody at the reception during the evening hours, the hotel was quite far from the centre of the city, restaurant did not work
The staff made the effort to be friendly and provide an evening snack despite the restaurant being closed. Breakfast was good with cooked food being offered. It made a welcome break in a long journey.
With the restaurant closed the Hotel did not seem very inviting, being dark in the snowy woods, however inside it was warm and friendly.
Easy parking at the hotel, fast wifi, very nice & good breakfast - plenty of options, friendly staff....
We arrived by train and visited museums using foot and local transit. The hotel is separated from downtown and generally walkable areas by a long bridge over the Rhine, with an expressway on it and no nearby bus stop. No restaurants nearby either: we had to make another round trip on that bridge.
after being moved from our first room and being put in the renovated part of the hotel, we were comfortable.
We were extremely dissatisfied with this hotel, as I was not informed that the restaurant would not be open for dinner during our stay. It is still listed as providing a restaurant service on Booking.com, despite the hotel site now stating it is closed until March! Had I known this, I would not have booked it. What happened to updates? It was closed for 2 weeks before we arrived! My request for no feather pillows did not appear to have been passed to the hotel by Booking.com. It is a good job that allergy is not the reason I do not want them, as both pillows were feather! By the time I found this out, reception had closed. On The first night, the bed was damp and unaired and the room was cold. The heating was put on but it barely made a difference even 12 hrs later as only one radiator in the room partially worked. Suffice to say I did not slept. The hotel is left unmanned all night. The bath water ran brown, so I did not dare shower in the morning. The washbasin unit was falling off the wall. There was mold in the grouting and the waterproof sealant around the bath was coming away. I negotiated with the hotel for a reduction in price, as the professed modernity, cleanliness and maintenance of the room we were in was a falsehood. The true nature of the first room is not reflected in the photos of it on the site. This is not a 3* hotel. It is a B&B, at best.
Despite previously giving a positive review for my last stay here, I was very disappointed this time. I had requested a bath in the room, but didn't get one. There were bugs in the shower. Even though I arrived at 8.30pm (not very late), the restaurant was already closed with no restaurants, shops or anything close that I could go to for food. On advising that I had to leave at 6am the next morning the receptionist looked extremely panicked until I assured her I would pay my bill there and then and even though I paid for it, I was unable to have breakfast as the morning staff didn't arrive until just after 6am. Surely they should have provisions available for this!
Quiet area, nice room, nice and skillful staff, good parking, great breakfast
internet connection, nearer to Speyer than to Hockenheim (hotel address)
+ friendly staff + clean rooms with standard facilities + excellent choice at breakfast + city centre in walking distance overall: good value for money
Across the river from the Speyer old town, excellent when travel by car. Hughe dinner despite the restaurant was closed on August, friendly staff, silent and good sleep.
I arrived very late (11.30pm) due to delays with travelling but the receptionist waited longer than her shift (the reception was supposed to close at 11pm) and talked me through directions over the phone when I got lost. She had a good level of English and was very warm when I arrived. She didn't rush me or seem annoyed at the delay. She gave me everything I needed and I had an excellent night's sleep in a very comfy bed. Excellent pillows! They also made sure I had a bath in the room not just a shower, which I had requested due to a bad back. So very happy.
I had to call 3 times and leave a message before someone answered the phone so I think the reception is not manned during the day.
Freindly staff. Good continental breakfast. Drinking and dining on the terrace.
A bit tired. Bar didn't open until 6pm. Slow to replace water in the room during hot weather. No backup toilet roll when getting low and bath mat went missing for one day. Ineffective extractor in bathroom. Shower gell was not replaced. Waiter didn't include everything on the bar/resturant bill when we ask to put them on our room each night. We had suspected this but led to confusion when checking out. All slips presented were correct though, some were just not signed. Final bill is presented in the local day rates (which varied) plus breakfast, but this did equal the Booking.com overall rate. Again just confusing.
The address of the hotel given on the reservation confirmation on the booking mobile app was 10 km away from the hotel at the wrong address. Rooms were looking old. There were small harmless spiders. Toilet had no window or other form of ventilation. Toilet water was rusty. When you open the tap and shower, water was rusty for first few seconds or minute. Room was very hot, no ventilator or airconditioner, if you leave window open you could here cars passing by on the motorway all night long.
Nice location close to Speyer, just a 5 minute walk across the river. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Very nice and fresh rooms and reception area, newly renovated. Wifi worked great.
Breakfast was a bit thin. Outside of the hotel could use a brush-up.
Great value for money and good location.
It is very convenient as a stopover as it is close to the motorway. The room was very clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Although very convenient for the motorway, it is a 20 minute walk over the Rhine on a very busy road bridge.
The staff was very friendly.
The discription of the hotel says: modern bathroom. Well mine was nothing like that (room 18). It was a very small, dirty bathroom. Aslo they say that they have all soundproof rooms. Mine was in front of the hotel and the cars that drove by the whole night, I could hear clearly! In the morning I was the only person at breakfast, the lady of staff asked me if I wanted coffee. After my breakfast I asked where my coffee was.. She forgot!! I was the only person there.......
the price was very reasonable. In the morning we had a very good breakfast in a beautiful restaurant just renovated. It was very quiet in this area just outside the town.
The friendly staff, the clean room
I have no complaine
