This 4-star-superior hotel stands next to the Tiergarten Park, just a 5-minute walk from Potsdamer Platz. It features large rooms and a modern spa with swimming pool.
Score from 450 reviews Very good
Maritim proArte delivered above my expectations. After reading some of the other reviews I have to say that I saw nothing of it. Rooms was great (I has a suite + an ordinary room) with a full set mini bar. Loved the pool and saunas, great for the kids to play in the pool area. Nice and friendly staff, especially the very nice Swedish-speaking girl in the reception – kudos for helping making our Christmas stay even more enjoyable! Very price worthy hotel in the middle of Mitte. 3-4 minutes walk to both S and U bahn stations. Not to mention the proximity to Friedrichstraße, Berlins largest shopping street.
Missing a proper restaurant. The tapas place on the corner didn´t do it for us. Very expencive breakfast
Staff is generally quite reactive and considerate.
Room was cold upon arrival and windows left open in winter. Minibar service not perfect and pool freezing cold.
A great situation and a very comfortable, unobtrusive and discreet hotel. I really enjoyed my stay.
Great location, close to U/S Bahn and great shopping, sightseeing etc.
The coldest swimming pool I've ever experienced! Also the breakfast was expensive - and not the best quality, save money and go to a café.
Location-walking distance to main attractions, breakfast, pool, staff, room size.
Not so fast wifi
Reception staff was friendly The spa facilities
Sunday 09:15 knocking on all the door in the corridor "Aufstehen! Housekeeping!" - worth a 2 star hotel or hostel At arrival soap and shampoo bottles had already been used - and were not replaced the next day. Also towels, even so put on the floor, were likely not exchanged. Insufficient capacity of the breakfast room - after waiting, we left the hotel without breakfast, as even while waiting additional people (trying to find a table) had arrived
- Included breakfast was excellent - Excellent value for money - Amazing location - St. Nicholas Festival Gift - nice touch!
- Free Wifi did not work at all - Reception was very understaffed - Concierge was not very willing to help, but was maybe also understaffed!
15 hour snack option in the lounge was the favourite thing about my sons' stay they let us into our room & lounge early! without charge
Nothing Ich bin ein Berliner!
Staff were friendly. Location is good.
Rooms need redecorating. Very old fashioned. TV is from last century. Wifi is very poor when it works. And it was stifling hot. Turn down the temperature.
Not enough choice of pillows. Need to have mixture available. Tea making facilities only available on request. Proper tea bags and milk difficult to get even on request.
My stay was paid in full and in advance. Yet, hotel refused to give me a bill, arguing that I went through booking.com. Instead, they gave me an "information" bill which showed the amount paid as amount due! This is simply illegal as the Terms & conditions of booking.com stipulate that - quote: "By making a reservation through Booking.com, you enter into a direct (legally binding) contractual relationship with the accommodation provider at which you book. From the point at which you make your reservation, we act solely as an intermediary between you and the provider [...]." unquote.
Beds very comfortable. Hotel warm (a bit too much at night). Very close to main attractions such as Brandenburg Gate and Checkpoint Charlie if sight seeing. Close to tour bus and river bus too.
Pillows much too soft - had to ask for more and then double them over. Wi-Fi a bit intermittent at times - had to keep re registering on it. Also although we had cancelled breakfast through booking.com the hotel still tried to charge us for it!
the location is convenient the room is quite spacious
the pillows are too low and thin
location was fantastic, close to friedrich strasse ,the facilities were good with cafe downstairs , there was free wifi in the room,
Wonderful breakfasts Helpful staff Very convenient position Good size room
The towels were a bit thin.
The location is great, 100m from Friedrichstrasse station and Unter den Linden. Spa good, not busy, very clean and hassle-free. A lift takes you directly there and there are robes and slippers in the rooms so no need to use the limited changing facilities. Bar serves good beer and is good value. I booked using the no cancellation option and paid only £244 for 3 nights for classic double.
The public areas downstairs appear a bit like a shopping centre. Certain areas are enclosed behind glass and there is no cohesive, welcoming atmosphere. Also, a big disadvantage for me (!) there are no tea no coffee making facilities in the room. i would expect this as standard in a 3 or 4 star hotel! No complimentary water either.
Poor fitness facilities, bed was splitting in the middle
Children treated well, they got their cribs and even their own toiletries (which were not available for us in the form of small samples) and a toy. We had a good sleep. Good pool.
Dirty, smelly carpet, worn-down furniture and tv so old even my grandma did not have such 10 ys ago. Pool area oldie, too.
Good staff, good location
Surprisingly roomy for reasonably-priced mid-city hotel in a great location - with a few bars and restaurants close by, many more within an easy walk. Windows that open, a bonus. Also within very short walk of Friedrichstrasse train station
Amazing location, beautiful hall, large and nice rooms, unobtrusive personnel, pretty stable wi-fi connection.
Free wi-fi speed is 0.5 mbit/s.
Poor service and selection at the Restaurant onsite.
Some members of the staff were very unfriendly!
Location is closer to famous site to see. Staffs are very fridendly and supportive.
Great location and friendly staff - clean and well appointed. Lounge was a welcome extra. Pool and sauna were comfortable and well serviced.Access to the shopping and tourist area was easy and close by - local to the S-bahn station. Bicycle hire was at the hotel and well worth trying - excellent way to explore the city.
Steam room was not always on.
