Restaurant stops serving at 9.30pm, but I feel this might be a local thing rather than anything to do with the hotel.
We stayed in Hotel Maximilian for 6 nights and had a wonderful, relaxing holiday. We were two families with teenagers and had an excellent time. The rooms are very comfortable, spacious and well designed. One of our rooms was 303, the large suite at the top, and we loved the balcony with views of the snowy mountains and the best view of New Year's Eve fireworks. This suite was a delight, with separate sitting area, plenty of wardrobe space, super comfortable bed and bed linens, two large flat screen tvs and luxurious spacious bathroom, an absolute treat! The breakfast is very good, especially the cappuccinos and the cooked egg and sausage choices. The local breads and pastries are great. The food for lunch and dinner is definitely the best in the town and we enjoyed eating here. We were in easy walking distance of everything in charming Oberammergau. Martin at the front desk was warm, welcoming and super helpful, with perfect english and a big smile he is an asset to this hotel! We are talking about returning in the summer to try the downhill toboggan roller coaster thing and enjoy the mountains in sunshine. Great trip.
