MEININGER Hotel Hamburg City Center    

Excellent value for money, ideal location with great public transport very close by, secure car park was a bonus, room was spacious, child friendly and very helpful staff

Breakfast was good but the there wasn't much choice.

The location is good, very close to train station. The staff are also very friendly.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and nice. The location is very convenient. I will definitely keep this Meininger Hotel in mind for my next visit to Hamburg

The price is good.

The floor of the room is not so clean, dusty. It looks like a student hotel because sometimes make noise in the night.

Staff was good and helping. There was a bar right next to the hotel.

Wifi was not available in all rooms and the all-you-can-eat breakfast was a big disappointment.

Location, rooms and the fact that even the rest of the floor was full of people there was quietness.

We had to wait till 15.00 to check in to our room, one hour after we arrived. Beds and pillows need an improvement

Short walk to Altona rail/S bahn station.

Described as Hamburg City Centre Hotel. It is in Altona, 5km from Hamburg city centre.

Altona location was good, not too far from trains or buses. Good value for morning breakfast. Community kitchen is a nice idea which we enjoyed but got crowded with all who used facility.

Booking.com said I would receive a discount upon registering which they could not allow. I chose to pay the advertised price instead of calling Booking.com to discuss. Elevator was slow but bearable.

I was totally impressed with the Hotel and it's staff and not to mention the close proximity to the public train system. Best bang for your buck for those travelers looking to country hop and need a clean and comfortable room. I've been traveling in Europe for two months and will now only stay at Meininger Hotels. Thanks again for the A+ experience.

It was close to where we wanted to go,

There was no designated smoking area so people smoked right outside the door. There is no floor heating so the room didn't get really warm. When you pay for late check out the key still stops working after the normal check out time

The room was big, clean, comfortable, the receptionists were nice. However, things were disappearing from my room.

I stayed 3 nights, and I always arrived late. My luggage was delayed, so for the first night all I had was a compensatory dressing case and a t- shirt from Lufthansa. The next night I found that the case was taken, and the towel was also missing. My impression was that probably the cleaning guy thought that I have checked out, and start to clean up, then halfway realized that this is not the case. Still it was rather annoying. The next night the towel still did not appear, and my phone charger was gone. I used on the first night, it should have been in the room. I did not want to believe, I searched twice the room and all my luggage, in vain. I travel a lot, this never happened to me before, lucky that I locked up most of my stuff in my suitcase. I complained both mornings at the reception, they promised to sort it out with the housekeeping, but could not help more. Another annoying issue was that I could not phone directly to the reception to ask whether Lufthansa delivered my luggage. The number I was given rings at their reservation center in Berlin. It does not always answer, and when it does, the guy tries to contact the hotel himself, they don't take it, etc.

Bit noisy in the corridors due to lots of young travellers staying there.

Poor wi-fi in the rooms. Cleanliness should be improved in the rooms.

Very clean hotel, free wifi, comfortable beds and pillows and warm rooms.

Rubbish breakfast, not a lot of choice and the orange an apple juice were undrinkable.

There was no hair dryer in our room and staff sems to be on traininig, but overall not majour fault

The room (606) served us with a nice view over Hamburg. The room was clean and the bed pretty good. Best of our room was by far the shower! The high water pressure also works as a massage and it feels like standing right under a waterfall!

Well, with € 5,90 for breakfest per person you can not expect much and thats what happend. The juice is horrible and the fruit salat is ban stuff, however, if you just want a fast and solid start for the day, the coffee should solve your purpose.
