Hotel Halm Konstanz  

Staff was very friendly and extremely helpful - I couldn't have imagine it any better. Our rooms (bedroom with a living room and bathroom) were spacious, comfortable, loved the big bath and everything was very nice, too. Also, the rooms were very quiet - they were looking out on the street in front of the hotel but you heard absolutely no noise from there. We stayed for New Year's Eve and afterwards and on 01.01. breakfast was served until 1pm which I think is a great service. We'll definitely choose this hotel again.

What I did miss - and I know this is a specifically UK / Ireland thing for hotels to have (though I've seen it in others by now, too) - is a facility to make tea and coffee in your own room. We were there in winter so it would have been nice to come back and make ourselves cosy and comfortable with a cup of tea or coffee and one hasn't always the desire to go to somewhere else for that. The breakfast despite being a very, very good choice was a little on the pricey side.

The staff was very friendly and more than welcome to answer all our questions and help us out whenever needed. The room was very clean and the beds comfortable. The breakfast (although it costs 16 eur per person) had almost everything I could ever think of...

I would have liked it if there was free parking included in the price. We had to pay an additional 10 eur per night in order to park our car in a nearby parking place.

Stay was to short!

This is a grand old hotel, beautifully appointed and conveniently located to the centre of the town and transport. The rooms and facilties are excellent and the staff very welcoming and helpful. Highly recommend Hotel Halm in Konstanz to any traveller, be it for business or pleasure.

Location and appearance - reception staff most helpful. We travelled by train from Zurich so the loaction to the station was great - so was the access to shops, parks and town. The accommodation was first class - we did not dine in the Hotel due in the main to the fact that we were on the move so much. The cost of breakfast at 16Euro is probably expensive.

Very classy hotel. Very professional and competent staff. A pleasure to stay at Hotel Halm Konstanz.

Location of the Hotel accross the train station. One minute from the Konstanz center/shopping area.

I did not like the entrance with only stairs. For heavier luggage I suggest that a ramp is installed that guest can roll their luggage into the lobby and do not have to lift it up the four steps.

Location and architecture

The breakfast was good but overpriced. I did not like having a bottle of water, again overpriced at almost 5 euros, reported to reception. I would prefer to be trusted to declare what was consumed. Also the water was not in the minibar but left out to appear as complimentary.

The hotel has an excellent position between the station and the old town. Everything is within walking distance. The staff are excellent. The room had a/c and was spotless. The bar is super. Everything was perfect

The dining room is a very interesting salle. The menu is intimidating. There should be local options like schnitzel, spatzle,pfferlinger etc. on a small fixed price menu. Also there should be a small bar menu like wurstel with brot/kart

Price for breakfast was on the high side
