This 3-star hotel is located in the historic center of Aachen, 800 ft from Aachen Cathedral. The Mercure Aachen offers a 24-hour front desk, air conditioned rooms and an underground parking garage. The Mercure Hotel Aachen am Dom features a modern façade and brightly furnished rooms. All rooms include satellite TV, a large desk and a private bathroom. A full breakfast buffet is served each morning in the spacious breakfast room or on the terrace. Drinks and snacks are served in the cool Klenkes bar with its stone-design walls. Aachen Main Station is a 12-minute walk from the Mercure, and regular buses run from the Elisenbrunnen stop, which is 300 ft away. Guests can walk to the Carolus Thermen Spa in 15 minutes. The rooms were comfortable and the staff were very pleasant. The minibar was free and the beds were very comfortable. It was an ideal location for the Christmas market. We loved it. The bar was not very well stocked.

The room was clean and tidy The room was small, two people could not pas at the end of the bed and was very hot, air con would only blow out hot air and on opening the window the noise was dreadful. The hotel is on top of a cab rank and there must be some kind of club near by. It finally got quiet about 5.30am shame I had to be up at 7am.

The hotel's location is astounding. It is only a couple of steps away from the Old Town and the impressive cathedral. The hotel is clean and comfortable. There is no proper restaurant in the hotel but if you feel hungry you can venture into town which is brimming with restaurants. They are not that good, though.

Great location. Friendly and helpul staff. Requested a handicapped room for my mum, no problem. Would be nice if there was another computer to use for the guests. Also, a bigger lounge; lots of rain this trip.

Our third stay in this good comfortable hotel, very convenient, close to the Christmas Market and the main shopping centre. Easy to reach from the motorway system, and has secure parking near to the hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. We would recommend it, but don't make it too popular - we want to go back.

We visited Aachen for the Christmas market and the hotel's location was excellent for this and also for other shopping areas. Although on a main thoroughfare we had a room overlooking one of the side-streets and it was quiet, the double-glazing very effective. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were very helpful and friendly and there were tea etc making facilities in the room which is really nice on a cold winter's day. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel as we felt that it was very over-priced.

We were very impressed - the carpets were clean in public areas and the overall look of those areas was very modern, our room was compact but sufficient, once again modern and very clean, easy to use shower with no problem regarding hot water at any time. The free safe was easy to understand. The central location was excellent and the car parking facility just over the road excellent! One of the receptionists couldn't speak very good english and even though we speak German she had a problem explaining where to find the car park.

The friendliness of all staff, the architecture of the building and rooms, the excellent location and affordable rates, the decor, the spaciousness and the comfort of the rooms, electronic, electrical and water equipment and the excellent wifi-internet access included in the price. But what I value most is the friendliness of all staff. Thank You ! We will return by Christmas Market.

We were extremely happy with this hotel. Our room was a good size, and light, with good sound control in the center of the old town.The location was perfect for our visit. The breakfast was excellent. We plan to stay at this hotel again in the future.

Housekeeping making so much noise at 7:30am in the corridor, on Sunday morning. Besides that, the lady entered in my room twice while we were still there. Couldn't they wait until we do the check out? Very disappointing....

The personel at the reception were kind and helpfull. To visit Aachen it was the best located Hotel. Very clean hotel. I slept the roadside were it is very noisy all night till the morning.So I didn't sleep well. Next time I ask for the silent side off the hotel, what excist.The breakfast is very good but they coudn't serve many tables at once so I ask for warm coffee and didn't got it. Orange juice, salmon, cheese, all was not exchange quickly.Pitty..

It was a comfortable, clean room with enough space for us and our 2 children. Travel cot and bed were already in situ when we arrived! Parking was easy. The surrounding area was rubbish for food. We went out to try and get something to eat at about 8pm and having walked around for a while looking for somewhere we ended up at a bar next door which had stopped serving food by 9pm but did manage to rustle us up something - but we had to sit outside with all the heavy smokers - not ideal for children!
