Poor facilities, no charme of spa, no feeling of a 4 star hotel. Not again.

The bed was comfortable and there was underground parking.

The staff were rude, and refused to give Miles & More points, even though Mercure are registered with the Miles and More scheme. There are lots of other hotels in the area who are registered with Miles and More. I will opt for one of these in future and avoid Mercure Hotels.

I paid full amount from the date of check in!!? I found the refrigerator not working with an empty bottle inside!! The smell of the towels are not good. Not cleaning my room good, the waste not collected for two days. Even though I paid the whole amount of accommodation including the breakfast, I was surprised from one of the staff whom asked me you shouldn't go inside until we are sure that the breakfast is paid!!!, This really make me feel so bad. No water offered in the room! The Internet is expensive 60 min cost 3€.

The location next to the Rhine river was excellent. Mercure Hotel Koblenz was only a 5-8 min walk down the riverfront from the KD river line cruise stop. Beautiful walk to Hotel but access was not easy on foot with luggage. Backpack would be much easier as the walk to the hotel was up quite a few stairs. Hotel was overall nice appearance and kept clean.

Entrance to the hotel from the waterfront walk was not easily found. The desk staff upon arrival was some of the most unfriendly, and not welcoming I have ever experienced in my 30+ years of travel and international travel. This was not just one employee. Both of the evening employees were uninterested in helping us find a restaurant. No recommendation of the in house restaurant. Just a point to the general direction of the bar area. Our room seemed clean and well kept but when we found used tissues on the floor beside the bed, unclean toilet, used teabags and napkins in the ice bucket I started to become leary of the cleanliness. I brought the ice bucket to front desk the attendant "Dennis" who also checked us in just looked down in to the bucket and replied oh. Later front desk attendent was also cold and uninterested in assisting us with taxi info for the morning. HOWEVER the morning staff were lovely younger women, kind and very pleasant. Night staff needs to go to customer service camp immediately! They are chasing away more guests than the company knows. I will revisit a Mercure but never this location again.

I was visiting Koblenz for the purposes of cycling along the Rhine and Mosel rivers. I chose the Mercure because I knew it would have quirt rooms, and the on site parking (underground garage) was exactly what I wanted when I came to assemble my bicycle - which I didn't want to have to do on a city street. My room was indeed quiet, and its 10th floor position gave me an excellent view over the Rhine and the city from my bay window. I would definitely stay here again. Breakfast at the hotel was excellent, with plenty of choice.

The restaurant dinner menu was perhaps limited, but OK for visitors staying only one or two nights. Service was somewhat slow. The hotel m3connect WiFi was temperamental, and there were times when I could not connect at all.

The location is excellent, right on the Rhine River, 15 minutes walk to the town of Koblenz and near the river path and lift to the nearby castle. It is a pleasant modern hotel with good food. The staff spoke German and English, and did not seem bothered by a small child. The beds are comfortable.

This hotel is overpriced for the level of facility and services offered. If this were priced as a 3-star hotel (or the hotel were located in the heart of a major city), it would be a reasonable deal. Given several factors, it is not a 4-star hotel and should not be priced as one. Reasons: The rooms are small, the bathroom modest (no tub, and the shower fixture is low-quality), the "fitness room" is a tiny cave with two pieces of equipment, there is no swimming pool, the breakfast is tasty but overpriced at 17 euros, the wireless Internet requires constant log-ons to maintain, the room service menu is limited, and the hotel has no other conveniences or amenities (such as a small shop) to offer. It is a pleasant enough hotel, just not a 4-star one.

The location of the hotel is poor, the majority of the rooms directly over look a very busy road. You have to cross this road to reach the town centre or any bar/cafe, (exept one restaurant at the rear of the hotel, the only way to reach this is via a very poorly lit underground car park). The pillows and bed linen are also of a poor standard and uncomfortable. The staff tried to be helpful, but directed us to a very long route to get to the town centre, and lacked any knowledge of lcoal tourist attractions or information.

A bit noisy with the window opened, but then again AC is just fine, no need to open the window. Overcrowded breakfast restaurant when the hotel is full.

Relaxation, luxury, free internet services in public areas, quiet atmosphere, surroundings, tea and coffee-making facilities in the room, fridge where you can put your own things. When we did not take breakfast as too expensive and we do not like to eat much am, they still provided tea and coffee- suggested we take from free facilities in room; staff were ok when talking to them- did not really want us to pay before end of holiday

Breakfast was too expensive but they allow tea and coffee in room, receptionists do not understand or speak good English, so communication can be a problem, lack of proper communication between reception dept and restaurant because of language; big hotels tend to be impersonal so no bye-bye on checking out as receptionists were either on phone or behind glass partition; distance bigger than thought as on website but short-cut could be explained better, as 5-7 mins extra walking

Great location, on the river, just south of the old town. Breakfast buffet pretty good and value for money.

Note to all prospective Mercure clients: The hotel always takes payment in advance with no option to cancel - so beware before booking. Room was adequate only, bathroom very small, aircon didn't get room below 24degC, Fridge didn't work and hotel staff didn't come to fix even after I told front desk. Public parking lot under the hotel so you have to pay an extra Euro15 per day. We ate in the restaurant one evening - main course low quality, bland and not worth the money. All-in-all not good value for money (about 110 per night but no breakfast/parking) Mercure is riding on the Accor group ticket! but don't compete on quality with other large chains - my opinion, but I travel lots and stay in most of the main hotels.

The room was relatively small for three persons. It was rather a room for two with one more bad.

A quality hotel in an excellent location as a base for exploring the nearby Rhine river and its castles and villages. (Every room has a view of the river!)

The hotel was ideally located on the Rhine near old city, cruise docks, and other sight seeing. The staff were incredibly friendly at restaurants and reception. Good quality food at reasonable pricing.
