Hotel is in a fantastic location - directly opposite Porta Nigra. Plus over the road from the info centre & main shopping area & sights. Everything was easy walking distance & we were lucky to have a sunny day when we stayed. The room was lovely & well appointed - had everything we needed & while it was just one night, was an enjoyable stop-over.

That you had to pay entrance to Casino, guest should be able to go free if resident or at least get a credit for entrance fee, would have encouraged us to go in and spend money....

Nothing! Except breakfast expensive - cheaper outside, in cafes

Very good location with magnificent view on the Porta Nigra. All city attractions are within the reach. Spacious family room with coffee and tea making equipment. Undergroung parking for a reasonable price. In our premium family room wifi, bath robes, coffee machine, bottle of water etc. were included in the package.

excellent location, just across the road from the porta nigra, the main focal point of the town. not a sound to be heard in the rooms at night. very comfortable rooms. excellent buffet breakfast costs €16.

Double bed is not a proper double. Just 2 singles side by side. Poor menu and expensive. Not a relaxing lounge or bar area.

The location is perfect. It has a reasonable priced parking lot.

No free wi-fi in the room. And a young guy from the hotel just opened the locked door of my room to deliver a paper. Unbelievable.

Locality was great. Room was enormous and had everything we needed. Most of the staff were very helpful but one a little moody and brusque. The food in the bar was excellent and the waitress great. We paid for a privalidge room with a view and boy did we get one. The Porta Negra was right outside our window.What a sight day & night. We were also able to retain our room until 4pm. We will return.

The price of the breakfast was ridiculous 18 euro each. We didn't bother There were far too many choices outside the hotel to merit this price so we bought food from a nearby bakery and took it back to our room. Cost about 5 euro for the two of us. The computer in the foyer was broken in the foyer so we were unable to track and plan the final part of our journey.

The excellent location, just in front of Porta Nigra. This hotel fits exactly what we need in Trier. Best place to know all the city.

Hotel stuff was very helpfull and supportive. Rooms were clean, very good sound isolation (we never heared anything from our neighbours) - and they clean rooms every day. Hotel's location is just superb, you just can't miss it. Breakfast was a huge one and very tasty, for (I think) any taste.

Paid wi-fi. Come on. it's 4 stars hotel, they could afford free wi-fi. Breakfast not included in the price. I would not mind if breakfast was 3-4 times less, but free-of-charge.

That everything is so expensive: a bottle of water in the room: 3.80 eur. Breakfast not included: 16 eur per person extra and at a room rate of 120 eur a night, that is too expensive. No city map available at concierge, only one to have a look at. Staff was not always friendly!

I have stayed here a few times, and will go back again. It makes an ideal stop-over on the way from England to Switzerland or Italy and back. It's a solid four-star, does everything you need it to do well. Location is unbeatable, right opposite the Porta Nigra and five minutes' walk to the Hauptmarkt. Rooms are mostly large and, in my experience, always clean and comfortable. Reception is friendly, parking is easy. Breakfast is what you would expect and is worth the €16 if you are hungry. (Imagine you had paid €16 for an equivalent meal at dinner in a restaurant: you would think you had got a bargain.)

If you book an unrefundable 'double room for single use', which comes at an exceptionally good price, you might find you end up with a single room which is much smaller than that advertised. However, it still represents pretty good value for money.
