Good hotel overall. Nice standing bath, room was what you would expect for the rating and price. Nice robe and extras in the room.

20 euro broadband is annoying. I'd have paid 200 for the room but resented having to add 20 and go through the hassle to sign up. A widespread issue in German hotels though, so not unique to Meridien.

Staff helpful, for example I asked for a needle and thread to sew a button onto my jacket, and the receptionist, Esther, offered to do it for me. Thoughtful and a pleasant surprise.

The room in the three nights I stayed there wasn't once cleaned properly, and I had the impression that it wasn't even vacuumed. Shame, as the room was nice, but it's a buzz-kill to come back and find grit on the floor and the bathroom unwashed.

Noise from people coming back into the hotel at 05.30 in the morning they should have more respect for other guests.

Very friendly staff - from arrival until departure, including helpful and friendly room cleaning staff, restaurant and concierge. Breakfast (included) was a definite plus - very good quality, wonderful choice of food and fantastic view from the table across the lake. The room was well appointed and the view from the small balcony outstanding. Altogether, a great stay.

Closeness to city center, the comfort offered, personnel's attentiveness and cleanliness were very satisfactory.

Would be preferable if breakfast was included.

Hotel itself was first class, location was excellent, staff were fantastic. The room with the lake view was lovely and only a short walk to the Christmas markets. Will definitely be going back!

Excellent rooms; clean, comfortable bed, quiet, great shower and lots of extra touches. Good location, 15 minute walk to the centre along the lake. Spa area great. Overall excellent!

i loved the location and the standard of cleanliness was excellent. the concierce staff could not have been more helpful. Everyone i met on the staff was kind and courteous. it was a wonderful weekend and i will highly recommend the hotel to friends.

the only down side was the smoking faciity in the bar. smoking in public places completely banned in Ireland and i had forgotten how awful it is.....

The location, with the lake across the road, restaurants a short walk away, main shopping a bit further away and good public transport nearby was very good. The staff especially in the restaurant were friendly and helpful and our room was very comfortable.

Added on costs for many things including radio and internet in the rooms.

Very good location at lake side. The gym and spa was good. The bar located on the 9th floor was excellent for viewing the lake. Behind the hotel are small cafe,s and shops which are interesting.

Very expensive parking and also bar prices are way too much for the service or drinks. The lobby design was very cold and univiting. There are cheaper resturants located behind the hotel , eating in the hotel is also very expensive. The reception staff are unfriendly on arrival how the gentelman who booked us out was friendly.

The location of the hotel is great - directly at the Aussenalster and in walking distance to the city (15min).

I called one day in advance to make sure that we get an Alster-view room since this was for us the major USP of the hotel - we also didn't mind the extra charge per night for this treat (35 Euros per night). So we did get a room towards the lake (303) but we were in eye height of the trees surrounding the lake - 3rd floor. If we didn't especially call and requested a lake view room, it would've been alright. We should have been advised/informed better. A normal room without the extra-charge would've been okay afterwards since we didn't really see the lake at all. So if you stay there make sure to get at least higher than the 3rd floor if you wish to highlight your stay with an Alster-view. Unfortunately we missed this treat.

Very nice, clean rooms with nice interior!

Expensive and poor WiFi! You pay 6 euro an hour and the speed is 512kbits!!! It takes about half an hour just to check 2-3 emails, you have to wait until it's loading! For this kind of hotel its really unexpected!

The location was brilliant, especially as we brought our dog. It was really handy to just be able to cross the road. We felt really at ease with him, and welcome as bedding and a bowel provided for him. It was lovely tobe located in neighboring room to our friends. Breakfast was superb and certainly the views from the dinning room breathtaking. All the staff were helpful and friendly. We also took advantage of and really enjoyed the boat trip on the lake, whilst the spa was so relaxing after an eventful day in the city. All in all we had a wonderful weekend greatly enhanced by our stay at the Le Meridien

Reception was efficient and friendly.

One of my reasons for picking this hotel was the potential for an excellent view of the lake. This is one of the main selling points of the hotel. However, what it doesn't say is that if you don't have a lake view, then you don't have a view at all, except for the back end of a few buildings accompanied by building works noise! The shower overflowed into the living room which would seem to the a problem with the shower cubicle drain. When I noticed this, it was too late to save some items I had left on the bathroom floor from becoming soaked. I also chose this hotel as it had a 12:00 check-out. That gave me a nice lazy morning to prepare for my journey home. However, I was interrupted 4 times by cleaning staff walking into the room between 10:00 and 11:00!! Finally, the concierge assistant was (and probably still is) the most depressing miserable man I have seen in a hotel. Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't stay here again. I don't expect a response back from the hotel, because let's face it - a bad experience is a bad experience. An apology doesn't make it a good experience.

Expensive breakfast (30 EUR) Location is far from city center to walk. No restaurants or cafes around. Taxi or car is essential.

Staff were very courteous, efficient and helpful. Breakfast was excellent if expensive and the dining room has wonderful views of the lake. Rooms was very modern, clean and well- appointed.

Lack of free Internet. No WiFi connectivity. That does not go with present times!

Stunning location and the staff were superb, nothing was too much trouble for them.Our room overlooked the lake which is a superb view. The room was spotless and we loved the docking station. Fantastic bathroom, especially the shower, and the bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in. We didn't eat in the hotel but we did use the bar which provided panoramic views of the city.

My only small issue was with the in room refreshments. Insufficient tea bags and water, and no hot chocolate or biscuits. However, I'm sure if we had taken the trouble to phone down they would have been provided.

Comfortable beds, spacious room, excellent shower and bath. Great location, opposite the lake and within easy walking of main shopping district and transport connections.

Price of breakfast €30 pp rather excessive, although there are much more reasonable local options available close by.
