Our guest rooms were renovated in mid-2004 and are furnished in a friendly design with modern amenities.

In our hotel you can escape the hustle and bustle and noise of the city.
Cyclists and hikers are most welcome.
The restaurant is open from Wednesday to Sunday. Indulge yourself in our excellent cuisine; enjoy regional and international specialties in a neat ambiance.

There is a shipping pier right by our house. From spring till autumn ships leave here for trips on Rhine and Moselle.

Our excellent cuisine offers an extensive and diverse menue throughout the whole year and it will certainly be freshly prepared. Seasonal specialities will complete this offer. In addition to our menue we recommend our exquisite wines and a variety of different german draught beers!

Beautiful hiking trails (e. G. "der rheinsteig") and cycling tracks surround the hotel restaurant merkelbach.
There is also a shipping pier at our house. From spring till autumn there are ships leaving for castle trips on rhine and moselle.

Travel information

Hotel Restaurant Merkelbach is located at the right side of the river Rhine, about 500 meter south of the bridge "Pfaffendorfer Bruecke". The city of Koblenz is on the opposite side of the Rhine.

Coming from the Express motorway A 61:
Leave the A61 at the motorway interchange Koblenz and change to A48 (towards Koeln-Frankfurt). After 5.7 km take the exit "Koblenz Nord". Follow the B9 in the direction of Koblenz for 5 km. Cross the bridge "Europa Bruecke" and go to Koblenz city. Stay on the main street (B49) for about 0.8 km. Cross the Rhine Bridge "Pfaffendorfer Bruecke". Leave the bridge on right hand side (there is a traffic light for pedestrians); at the following U-bend don’t take the bend but follow the street straight on (Emser Strasse). After about 500 m you will find Hotel Restaurant Merkelbach.

Coming from the Express motorway A 3:
From A3 change to A48 (direction: Koblenz, Trier) at the motorway interchange "Dernbach". Stay on the A48 for 16.8 km and leave at the exit "Bendorf / Neuwied". Take the B42 towards Koblenz (7 km). You pass the fortress Ehrenbreitstein and after 0.8 km leave the B42 on the left (Pfaffendorf). After that exit: turn right and follow the street (Emser Strasse) for 1.1 km.
