Score from 1080 reviews Excellent
large room, comfortable bed, very convenient for tram to city centre, quiet
staff a little odd - "do you want to give me your credit card? " comes across rather strangely. When he forgot to give it back he said he wanted to go shopping - Koln humour? Credit card safe didn't work, nor did the standard lamp, a kettle is not the same as a coffee maker, it feels like a conference centre not a hotel.
- Breakfast - Comfort - Location to Train station
- Staff at Reception were un-enthusiastic - No free wifi - Pool closed
Breakfast was fantastic.
The bar staff in the evening were under a bit of pressure.
The staff is very helpful and kind and breakfast is very good, the rooms are spacious, quiet and clean and the hotel is very handy for both the Messe and City Center. This is always my first choice of a hotel when I stay in Koln for the weekend.
The bed is just ok, being the mattress not so comfortable as it should be taken into account how much materials for beds have improved. The welness center, SPA and swimming pool, is still closed, and it does look that there is no intention to reopen it again, which it is really bad news.
Location close to fairground and train station. Quiet and big room on the 6th floor towards the interior yard. Comfortable bed. Cosy restaurant. Cheap parking nearby (4 €/24 hrs).
When there are more than 10 people in the bar, the barman is completely overcharged and there is (apparently) no possibility that another employee comes to help him or back him up. We waited 20 minutes to get our drink and 20 more minutes to get our bill. Thanks god we had the exact amount ready, so we didn't need to wait another 20 minutes to get our change. It was friday evening around 8 pm.
As a Dorint Member, I was entitled to an upgrade, but was initially told nothing was available. But when I was unhappy with the size of my Maisonette Room for the price I was paying, and said I would write a negative review, suddenly multiple rooms became available. That was very disappointing.
The location is perfect if you're travelling on business, because it's right in front of the Kölnmesse. The city center is just a few metro stops away. The hotel itself is nice and comfortable and offers anything you need for a comfortable stay
The wifi connection is not excellent as you would expect from a hotel like that, and 25 euros for breakfast per person a day is definitely way too much, not to mention the 7.5 euros I spent on a bottle of water
An interesting room layout. Clean.
Reception was not helpful. No response to me request for 2 lights not working in the bedroom. The free Wi Fi has to be free because it did not work at all at busy times and no one would pay for such a "service". Very poor considering Wi Fi connection is essential when on business. Again a frosty response from reception. No place to open a suitcase in the bedroom other than on the floor. Bar very noisy acoustics.
1. Cleanliness. 2. Facility. 3. Close to all business need and Fair ground
Very clean and very comfortable. Excellent location for a trade show.
Absolutely useless wifi. As this was a business trip the inability to get onto the wifi caused much frustration and time wasting. Cost of breakfast far too high, it was nice but not worth the cost.
Excellent service. On site restaurant and bar was very nice. S-Bahn train stop in front of the hotel for easy access to downtown.
It was overall a great experience.
Easy parking, Breakfast is very good, Staff friendliness
Few TV channels in english and french, Wi-Fi was not working in the evening
Nice quiet rooms Good ventilation Excellent breakfast Pleasant and friendly staff
Pillows were too soft
Breakfast outstanding Quiet room away from traffic
Room dirty Bathtub slippery when showering
Here everything works perfect. Staff are all helpfull and friendly. Restaurant makes really good food - breakfast is the best i have tried.
Breakfast was good
Very unfriendly staff @ reception / very slow room service and also not customer oriented
staff is great - room are very nice
Needed to login to hotel WIFI each time I started up the computer or had been out of the hotel with my smartphone. Login not adapted to smartphone.
Spacious lobby, nice size room, good selection for breakfast. The hotel is 3 km away from the centre which gave us a chance to exercise walking
We stayed for 3 nights in this hotel, housekeeping did not bother to change the bed sheets or the pillow cases at all during our stay.
Interenet works poorly! For business -not! There is no hotel SPA center. They proponujea Raddison Blu hotel near ... there's only sauna! There is no pool at the hotel. Very expensive parking ... 19 euros / day. hotel staff deliberately introduced me astray in terms of internet access, swimming pool and parking
Friendly and efficient staff. Very quiet, comfortable and spacious rooms. Breakfast is in the form of a buffet with a HUGE choice of fruits, juices, eggs, cereals etc. Very good food! Knowledgeable personnel, great interior design and location close to the Messe and the train station to city centre and the Dom make this Dorint an excellent choice. Insider tip : Evening meals and drinks are served at the Düx, where excellent waiters pamper the hungry (and thirsty) visitors.
Only one setback : Wifi is available everywhere in the hotel, except for Apple users. iPhones nor MacBook Pros can connect. Bummer when you're there to work ...
Breakfast, room and staff were excellent
Wi-Fi - slow and limited access Asked for a double bed, got two single beds pushed together I know a minibar is always quite expensive, but €7,50 for 75cl of still water is ridiculous
Got upgraded to a Business Room - VERY spacious and perfect for me and the work I was doing - Had room 128 Breakfast buffet is amazing and has everything Room service - fast and efficient with some very tasty options FOH-Staff - very friendly
Noise from refurbishment in basement on Saturday morning from 0700 - right below my room and it woke me up! - really annoying and when pointed out to a workman the response was rude and ignorant (I speak German fluent but asked him in english - received a whole lot of nasty swear words back in German where after I returned his message in german which freaked him out!) Housekeeping did not attend to my room until 4:00pm when I was back from the expo and preparing my evening meetings - you would expect to get your bed made etc. earlier than that Bar-staff on Sat night were too young and too un-profesional; kept chatting in private, high-5ing eachother, paper-scissor-rock about who's turn it was to see to a customer - THEY ARE NOT SUITED for FOH duties and were the reason why our party of 6 decided to leave the bar to go somewhere else... really unprofessional!
There is no any Facilities like a swimming pool or Jym !!!! really i'm so wondering how it's come with a four star hotel ?
The breakfast was amazing and the staff were always smiling and helpful.
Getting a new wifi password every morning was a pain
