Bad attitude of the staffs

I really liked leaving the place because the room was not very clean, smelled bad and the staff lied to me.

WiFi access advertised, but it was not available when I checked in. The staff said it would be running in 2 hours. It did not run during my entire stay.

Very central although in red light area

Very dirty, does not have wifi or parking facilities quoted are fictitious. Staff not helpful. Rooms dirty, had to hold shower head to get a shower and black gunge came up from plug hole. Just a disgusting hole. Hotel and rooms more suited to rent by the hour and not per night if you know what I mean.

the room (broken and humid walls, broken wardrobe without hanger), a very old table, the restaurant (small restaurant with bad service and a non friendly waiter), the quality of internet connection is awful and only in public areas (stairs LOL), plus they don't give you back your money in case of earlier check out.

Staff at the Hotel Modern were friendly and helpful. The rooms, while dated, were clean with a modern bathroom. Towels and toiletries were provided. We were there in the middle of winter and the heating was excellent. Breakfast was a typical European buffet. The hotel's location is great. I would stay again, given the value for money this hotel represents.

Rooms Dirty. Noisey Location. (Music from caberet bar next door could be heard untill 5a.m. Breakfast very poor.

The room was very dirty. The lack of an inner door in the room made it very noisedamaged.

Perfect location. 1 minute walk from train station. Staff was friendly and offered maps and tips about Munich. The room was clean. Breakfast was excellent for price. Plenty of hot water and rooms were warm in winter.

Needs new carpets and walls were scuffed up. Also, the street has a few strip clubs, but absolutely felt safe walking at night.

The people at the front desk were very friendly and helpful, recommending great things to do and see in Munich. So many on this sight have given this hotel bad reviews, and I don't know why. No, this isn't the Ritz, but it is no way nearly as bad as they are saying. After reading the reviews and then arriving and seeing my room, I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, the rooms are a little shabby, but the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean. For a good price, what more does one need? The breakfast was wonderful, filling us up so well that we skipped lunch every day. Don't take the bad reviews seriously- this is a fine budget hotel with a great location two blocks from the main train station. I would stay here again.

No Wi-Fi in the rooms, but it is available on the main floor.

Front desk staff was friendly - at least the daytime guy was. Water pressure was good. The bedding was clean (superficially at least). Good access to other rooms and fire escape through courtyard-facing balcony (in case you need to borrow shampoo or escape from the cops).

All except 1 fixture in the room was hanging off the wall/ceiling. The carpets made my feet feel sticky. The walls were filthy. There was a tally chart left on the wall (in filth) by someone who had spent 5 long horrible nights there. The bed creaked. The shower fitting was broken so you had to hold it the whole time. The toilet seat didn't match the size of the toilet bowl. Towel hangers were falling off the wall. The wardrobe had no handles, and the drawers inside it were broken. None of the coat hangers in the wardrobe matched. There was no clock in the room. The tv was ancient and the remote was filthy. The bedsite tables were filthy (see: covered in sticky white residue).

As a low-cost, conveniently located base for an independent business visit, Hotel Modern served my purposes perfectly. It's clean, comfortable and no frills - I.e you don't get charged a higher price to be over serviced, when all you really need is somewhere secure to keep your stuff and sleep/clean up. Breakfast included adds to the good value - adequate choice and generous coffee.

I would have liked wi-fi/internet access in the room, and would be prepared to pay a little extra for that - either included in the room price or as an option.

Outdated. Shower had no door, imagine the mess in the bathroom... Not worth the money.
