Score from 2027 reviews Very good
first at all, great location. on my opinion, much better stay at this hotel then in hotel in centre, because if you want get to the centre you will spend only 10 minutes. But if you will come out to the terrace of this hotel you will can admire beautiful city Heidelberg. Also in this hotel you will get good breakfast, room after renovation, quiet rest and fresh air
Comfortable room, bed and pillows, breakfast, location, helpful staff.
Breakfast not included, temperature of the water in the shower.
We stayed there based on booking.com's ratings and it was correct. The room was very new and clean. Great view of Heidelberg. The hotel is right next to the mountain train. The breakfast was included and perfect for us. Good coffee, fresh fruit, meats cheese, buns, bread and eggs. Will recommend to anyone.
It's not what I didn't like but a suggestion. If you stay there, you must have a car or need a taxi. The train runs on restricted hours It is a very steep and dangerous walk from the City Centre on the road to the hotel. I had a car with GPS. Thank heavens.
Everything. Dinner was one of the best meals in our 10 day tour of Germany. I eat at this Hotel in 1964 as a junior in high school for prom night
Quite location, hill view.
Poor selection of breakfast, very small room.
Great staff. Clean and well decorated rooms. Complementary bottle of sparkling water. Relatively inexpensive beer at their bar. Tram to the Castle and city only about 100 meters away.
The restaurant was very expensive and what we ordered did not come as specified in the menu.
Localization of the hotel in the top of a mountain with the incredible view of Heidelberg
View from terrace.
Wi-Fi only allowed one device to connect. A bit expensive.
beautiful views, lovely breakfast, very comfy beds and good shower close to castle and lovely walks around the area
needed to use the cable car as steep walk down and it closed at 8pm suggest hotel provides free transport cards
Location above the town with easy access via funicular, great views and good parking.Restaurant was very good.
- Nice staff - Very nice view of the city - Lack of noise: I was there while there was a big party and heard almost nothing in my room
- a bit far away from the city if you have no car - food at the restaurant was not amazing - basic breakfast - bed: a bit too hard for what I usually like
Fabulous views of the hills, river, bridge and old Heidelberg below. Peaceful and quiet setting that is about 5-10 mins drive from the old town centre. Close enough, yet far from the madding crowd. Clean and modern newly renovated rooms. Next to Molkenkur funicular railway station, which made it easy to ride down to Heidelberg Castle, and up to Konigstuhl for a panoramic view of Heidelberg.
Breakfast was additional at 10 Euros per person. For that price, the spread could have been better. The hotel was a bit hard to find even with GPS. May be a difficult to get to and from if you don't drive.
We were in a semi-emergency situation. Facilities offered us a place to make the connections we needed. Location was peaceful and offer us a respite from some stress.
Hard to find the staff at times.
We found the hotel very well appointed, the staff were friendly and helpful (especially as we'd had an horrendous journey, and didn't arrive until after midnight. I phoned them a couple of times to update them as to our ETA, and they were very understanding, assuring us not to hurry, and to be safe). The views of Heidelberg were magnificent! There is also a tram/railway point just behind the hotel, which takes you down into Heidelberg. Not noisy or intrusive. Sadly we didn't have time to use it, but it couldn't be more conveniently situated. I'm definitely recommending this place to a few of my friends who regularly travel to Germany, and appreciate a good hotel.
No lifts, but we were only on the first floor, so it wasn't an issue for us.
Wonderful location, high above Heidelberg and directly beside the funicular railways down to the city or up into the mountains.
Room very cramped. Heating not functioning properly, although staff very helpful in providing an electric heater. No lifts, no tea/coffee-making facilities in room.
This hotel situated on the top of hill looking down the old city of heidelberg as well as the castle. The view from the room was awsome. The interior looked like renovated recently.
On site staff might be little short to its anticipated capacity. When I tried to check out, there were nobody at the reception nor I could call. However it's still marginal disadvantage.
Location Newly renovated
The location of the hotel is absolutely magical especially at Christmas time and so close to the Schloss and its quaint Christmas Market. The views of Heidelberg at night and in the early morning are breathtaking.
As the entrance to the hotel is on the left as you ascend the hill and there is a turn to the right at the same point our GPS missed the entrance. We panicked a bit as we arrived in the dark. We had no problem finding it once we turned back.
