This family-run hotel offers free Wi-Fi in the center of Berlin. It is 330 yards from the historic Friedrichstrasse shopping street and 550 yards from the Nordbahnhof Train Station. The rooms at the Hotel Novalis have a private bathroom. Each morning, a breakfast buffet is prepared in the breakfast room. Bikes can be rented from the Novalis. Packed lunches can also be organized. I was looking for an affordable place to stay right in Berlin's "Mitte" section, so I could walk everywhere. Hotel Novalis is amazingly central and a real bargain. I also wanted WiFi and breakfast - both were available, WiFi was free. Public transportation to all parts of Berlin is available within a few blocks, and some very good restaurants are within a block or two. It was really easy to stop back in during the day to take a break, and then head out again, since the hotel is so centrally located. The friendly manager was right there ready to help when I arrived. The room had twin beds and was very comfortable. Even though it was freezing in Berlin during my stay, my room was toasty and there were plenty of blankets. Good bathroom facilities right in the room. Breakfast was plentiful and served in a very pretty room. The mattress could stand to be upgraded. I would also have liked the ability to make tea/coffee and sit in the nice breakfast room at other times of day.

Staff was very, very gentle and available all the time. They made us feel at home, and gave us nice suggestions on places to visit. The Hotel itself is extremely clean, and our room - while a little on the small side - was nicely furnished, comfortable and quite. The little we paid is disproportionate to the quality. It's *nitpicking*, but you need 3 keys! :-) One for the main entrance, one for the rooms' corridor, one for your room. Rooms are at first floor with no lift (but the staff carried our bags!) Can't really imagine anything else...

We really liked the hotel, close to the main train station in a quiet area, the room was big, very clean and comfortable, and the young lady in the reception deserves an a+ in costumer service (she helped us a lot with everything we needed and was very kind...) If we come back to Berlin someday we´ll stay in this hotel again for sure.....

I consider this as one of the more "value for the money" alternatives I have visited. The staff were friendly and waited for us although we arrived a lot later than expected (After normal opening hours).The interior were very simple but worked. The beds in our room were a bit worn although not to the extent that it destroyed sleeping. In essence: If just visiting Berlin, this is a hotel with good value for the money!

Nice Hotel, very close to the city center and the lady that works there is really helpfull. She does not have the best english but it works. The rooms and toilets are clean. We got value for our money spent.

The room was clean, but a little bit small. The breakfast was very good, served in a nice dining-room. The staff was extremely helpful ! No noise from other rooms or from the streets. The hotel is situated a short walk distance from the very centre of Berlin, and according to that, we got very good value for the money !

Hotel Novalis is located in the centre of Berlin. Just 5 minutes walking and you reach the U/S-bahn. 10/15 minutes walk and you are in the middle of Berlin. In the morning (before 6 oclock) were noisy because the trash ís pick- up.
