First Class **** Hotel Novotel Leipzig City, located centrally in the old city centre just in front of the Railway Station and the Opera House has an ideal position for your business or private experience. It is just a couple of minutes away from the old market place and the traditional Saint Thomas Church where there is Johann Sebastian Bach´s grave. The church is home of world famous Thomaner - Choir and maybe you are lucky enough to hear them singing. There are many new shops open since the town centre is renovated. Many of concerts take place on a festival ground or in arenas which may also be reached from the hotel in few minutes.

In the restaurant "Le Jardin" we offer our guests Mediterranean, international and regional cuisine. Opening hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Bask in that certain "savoir vivre" of our restaurant, while our garden terrace in the inner courtyard is quite a romantic setting during the warmer month.

The hotel bar "Le Grand Cafe de la Gare" is open from 10:00 a.m. to 01:00 a.m. next morning. Enjoy your evening with friends or business partner in convivial round.

Room information

Novotel rooms provide modern comfort, a unique feeling of spaciousness and contemporary decor for both business and leisure travel.

The hotel offers 200 nicely furnished rooms, 6 of them for the disabled people also as well as 10 Junior Suites and 2 tower suites. There are more then 140 non smoking rooms available.
Modern, light and calm rooms available with French beds as well as twin-beds. All the rooms are air-conditioned and have sound-insulating windows.

There is a perfect view from the upper floors to the Leipzig Opera House and the old Railway Station.

The location is good.

The room maid provided me and my wife only one set of liquid soap and shampoo though we stayed 3 days.

The room was a good size. We had a triple room with a toddler. They gave my son a toy upon check in. There was a park right across the street. The main train station is across the street. (It's on a corner.) Al the major sites are within an easy walking distance. There was a lock on the mini bar (key with your hotel key) to keep my son out. We could all relax at the end of the day

The bed was a bit firm and the pillow was a bit soft for my liking. The children's playground is a small play area in the lobby. It's perfect for check in/out, and we did use it for a few minutes one afternoon. There is a park right across the street though, with a duck pond and lots of green space where the children can run around.

Like any other Novotel.

The bed was not that comfortable and they only gave us one duvet which was not as large as the bed. Also there were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room but this may be normal for Germany.

Good location. Pleasant staff.

Most expensive room I booked on a recent trip around Germany and the worst room. Double bed was so close to the wall that it was impossible to access the side of the bed. Duvet provided only covered 75% of the bed. Eventually found a second single duvet in a cupboard - but we had booked for two people. I will give this hotel a miss next time.

Friendly, helpful staff. Good food, especially excellent breakfasts. Lovely cool courtyard restaurant.

Although it did not bother us, there is traffic noise on one side of the hotel.
