Frendly staff & braakfast There is only 1 lift. It would be great to have another lift too. There is one pc at the lobby area free to use, but no free WiFi in the room. 3 eur per hour, 6 eur per 5 hours for internet use, if I remember correctly...

Decent hotel as you'd expect from Mercure. Close to the train station. Room was fine for 2 people. At my almost 2m length, the shower wasn't a problem; I've seen different. Beds are a bit short for me but have no board at the feet, so this isn't a problem. I had to keep the window closed at night due to the window looking at a roundabout of a big parking garage, with cars going in and out every now and then, making a fair amount of noise on some metal plate in the road. With the window closed it was no problem. Airco is not really quiet but acceptable.

Primarily chosen for location - as stop off point between Berlin and London. Also because it was city centre so we could eat nearby and do something in the evening. Liked room size and cleanliness plus fridge was useful for storing our milk for children. Internet use very useful. Didn't buy breakfast as it was too expensive. Please could you offer a cheaper option for families. We did without and ate our own food. We also brought our own kettle to make tea - it would be lovely if this could be in each room. This is normal hotel practice in England. It would be nice if the family rooms were decorated in a less business way. Would also be nice if parking was cheaper for hotel guests.

The reception staff and the waiters in the restaurant/bar were very helpful and polite, doing their best to answer questions even about the weather to come. Great breakfast. Nice bar as well. 2.5 eur for 15 minutes Internet access? Are they kidding? For 10 EURs I get a whole months access at home! Also, their swimmingpool isn't large enough to swim really, which is okay for we were with kids and they wanted to play mainly, but were told off by the masseurs to keep it silent. Kids. In a swimming pool. Silent. Right. Soundproof those massagerooms rather. Also, the rumours are true, a single and very slow elevator is bottleneck, I chose usually the stairs, that was way quicker.

I booked and paid the room in advance and the rate is great for a Mecure Hotel. The room is big enough for a baby cot and a sofa which was transformed into a bed for our 5 year old son. Our stay was great and the room is very comfortable.

Renovated room, former smoking room. Would have preferred a pure non smoker room. Breakfast expensive, Starbucks is around the corner and offers better value for 16 Euro

Great location in the heart of the shopping district whilst also close to all the motorways linking the Ruhr with the rest of Germany/Europe. Staff were friendly and helpful, the room wa clean and well appoinred and the food was excellent. This was my second stay at the Mercure Hotel and whilst it is certainly not in the budget class it is certainly value for money for that one-off trip or special occasion.

The parking was very convenient and the hotel had lots of amenities which I did not use, including a pool. In no way should this be considered a four star hotel. I was initially put in a room where the bed was unmade and one towel dirty. I paid for a "deluxe Queen Size room and they gave me a small dirty room. They could not find my reservation even though I had a printed confirmation to show them. All the "free" items, like WIFI, which was in my reservation, they charged me for and I had to argue to get them off my bill. The carpets had terrible stains, not just in my room but all through the halls. I would never recommend a stay at this hotel.
