Perfect location for starting your daily trips to the city. Large breakfast buffet. Nice view over the city from the 14th floor and up.
The building stems from end 60's, which is still showing nowadays in the room space (small for a standard room). Mattress was hollow and should be replaced by a new one.
The location is perfect
10 euros per day for wife ?? We are in 2015 !!!
Very nicely refurbished (previously, this was a GDR hotel), wonderful views over town from 20th floor.
Matrace should be replaced, one can feel the springs. Pillows terribly soft and without giving any support.
location to subway
room service at 0820 h while sleeping
Nice Hotel in the City Center with Berliner Fernsehturm view. Nice rooms, quiet, elegantly furnished.
- 41 floor, hundred of rooms, and three receptionist, so you will wait and wait and wait and in something like 50 minutes you´ve got your room. - don´t try to ask staff for any advices - I asked woman receptionost for Kennedys Museum, she answered " I don´t know, where is it, it is not important for my life." I asked a men receptionist for famous restaurant, btw 800 m away from hotel, he answered he never heard about it and he doesn´t know the name of the street also (Alte Schonhauser Strasse) - wifi is for charge (...) - breakfast for 19 EURO per person was wasted money
-perfect location -friendly staff -fair price -modern style
-desk in room was just for one person -wifi could be free at least somewhere in the hostel -spa was not that great
The location is excellent. Breakfast are excellent value. The new television sets are a great improvement.
Queues can be too long at reception. The lobby is used more and more by non-guests to the hotel as a short cut from Alexander platz to the other side of the hotel. It can be worrying, some sort of separation would be welcomed.
We were met by a staff for whom service seemed to be a new word. We waited 40 miniutes to be checked in, the staff at the counter seemed more interested to chat with her co-worker in German (even though we spoke English with her) than to pay attention to us. We had the same experience when we were missing some items in the room - and called the front desk but never received the items. We had the same experience in the breakfast restaurant. So, in general, the hotel seemed more like a factory than a service-minded hotel. Everything had a focus on execution and less on our experience. I don't think we would come back.
Location was great close to train lines
Staff and concierge were extremely unfriendly and just rude on most occasions
Amazing central location. Staff impossibly helpful and polite. Room excellent. We went in December and there was a. Christmas market right outside...does it get any better than that?! Rooms were both quiet. Nothing but praise. I accidentally left some stuff in the safe after we checked out and didn't realise till later, staff sorted it out within minutes. Nothing but praise.
Would have liked free wifi but that's really about it!
good place in the Berlin downtown
Great location, easy to find, being one of the tallest hotels in the city! Being so close to the TV tower also meant it was easy to locate. Clean rooms, great showers. Some great restaurants & bars close by, our favourites were: Standard Berlin pizza restaurant and Kaschk for the craft beers! Can also recommend the local burrito place, Delores, great for meat eaters through to vegans!
Wi-fi is free in the lobby but not in the rooms. So can be a little slow at times. The bathrooms depend on the room, some yes do have a toilet with a frosted glass panel, others are enclosed by a wall, so ask upfront if you have a preference. A curtain helps in the bathroom area for privacy.
Prime location for almost everything.
The lady staff that served me in check-in was a little aloof and pulled a long face, however the other service staff beside and around her was really pleasant and i do see them greeting customers very warmly which felt very welcoming.
Alexanderplatz is a well connected location
- Staff is terrible and completely uncoordinated. Not service minded at all. Keep shuttling you back and forth between the reception and concierge for any request. - The lights (and telephone) in my room blew out and it took them over 30 mins to just come take a look - Room service ends at 10pm - Paid wi-fi for 10 euros a night is a little 18th century - Just in case, I hadn't driven the point home, staff is terrible (especially at the reception)
Clean, excellent location, warm in winter.
Cleanjng stuff didn't speak any english but they were nice except for the 4th Jan this old lady blond with glasses refused to clean my room and was so rude left me while talking to her. No free internet they have daily expensive one.
location location location, friendly staff, clean rooms
the wifi is ridiculous (9.90E PER DAY!), sauna is not included, viewing floor isn't included, basically no free perks at this hotel.
Location, comfort, WiFi, view was fantastic!
It took a little getting used to the toilet being kind of see through, but that was okay, as we know Germans are more comfortable that Americans about such things!
Nice and very attentive breakfast staff.
When we booked there was no mention of the suite having no windows.
I had a three night stay a few nights ago, the hotel is clean, quiet, close to Alexanderplatz station... and if you do get slightly lost in Berlin, just head back towards the TV Tower as that's so close as well. Staff are also friendly and were there to help if you need them. I think one of the best plusses is the location.
The Wifi wasn't brilliant and could be quicker, I did think it was ok price wise as well... but free wifi would be better, you've already paid to stay there, so why should you have to pay more to use something that everyone needs.
The toilet in the room was strongly smelling urine!!! The cleaning was very very bad!!!
Good location, staff were very helpful
Paid extra for a 'room with a view', didn't seem to be much different from another room. I needed to print my boarding pass, and was directed to a PC which costs €10 to use, that's before any printer costs, but after paying €10 for 24 hours of Wifi. For the price you pay, you wouldn't expect them to keep adding to the bill.
The location of this hotel in Alexanderplatz is excellent. Any part of the city is easily accessed by the various transport systems right on your doorstep. Our room with a city view was amazing.
No free wifi.
Without realising it when booking, the location if this hotel was perfect. Popping over to Berlin for the Christmas Markets was the aim of our trip, but booking this hotel placed us right in the heart of the markets. In close proximity to Museum Island and various other landmarks at the same time. If we return to Berlin I would definitely stay here again. Staff was ever so helpful and friendly! Great experience!
Would have liked free WiFi and perhaps coffee making facilities.
