Room was comfortable and clean with nice bathroom.

Staff were not that friendly and stayed in Annexe building opposite the main hotel with a small sign outside. Reception just described the building as being round the corner so took a good 10 mins to work out where it was. All she had to say was that the building was opposite!!

It ticked the boxes - room, basic facilities. Staff were efficient without being particularly friendly.

Charmless and soulless. It is 15 mins walk to the Dom. OK for me but not for everyone. It is close to a U bahn station (2 mins). The cost of the breakfast was outrageous.

Everyone was very helpful, they upgraded us upo arrival as we had to wait past the 3PM checkin for our room. Restaurant onsite was good, service friendly. Close to Cologne rail/subwy station so it was easy to get into town for the Christmas Markets.

We were placed in the annexe on our first night which was very disappointing. We paid in excess of a 4 star hotel for Cologne and the room on our first night was not what we expected or what we paid for. It was smaller, across the street and away from hotel facilities and of a moderate 3 star quality. I was particularly disappointed that the receptionist did not acknowledge this was a worse room at our arrival and offer to move us back when there was room in the main hotel. It took us to complain for him to offer this. We would have been perfectly happy to stay there if it was explained the room was not as comfortable but that they'd move us back. Instead it was offered to us as having a ' good view' of the cathedral.

The staff were extremely courteous and helpful. The food in the bar was delicious and excellent value for money. Our room was extremely comfortable and all facilities (bed, shower, television) were of the highest standard.

The best thing was the location. Easly accessible from the motorway, located on a calm street, but still very near the center and the metrostation.

The only bad thing was the size og the single beds. They are not that wide.

the location is very quiet - no noise of streets/bars or anything at all. at the same time it is not more than 10 minutes walking distance to Koelner Dom and the center. the room is comfortable. upon arrival our standard room was upgraded to superior free-of-charge, car parking is located on the hotel territory, very convenient. we were checked-in 2 hours prior to check-in time. in the room there is coffee machine at your disposal - the coffee is good:) if you travel with car - petrol station is just on the next street, very convenient.

- no free wi-fi. you have to pay and the price is very high: 1 min = 0,30 cents 2 hours = 10 euro (!!!) 1 day = 17 euro - you have to consider there are no shops or restaurants right next to the hotel.

The area is nice and easily walkable to the centre. We like to swim so the pool was important for us.

We booked a room in the annex intially, the room was small and dingy but we were able to swop to a really nice room in the main hotel.

lack of twin beds although website said the hotel did., lack of air conditioning and it was hot, farther than a 15 minute walk to kolne's chapel.

We came for a big music festival to Cologne, so there were no so many places to stay around the Tanzbrunnen location, and though this hotel is right in front of the festival area on the other bank of the Rhein river, it was quiet and relaxing, business alike. It's only 10 minutes of walk to the Haupbahnhof and der Dom, to the shopping area, eating-out, 3 minutes to the river, close to the funicular and Zoo, so you can choose where to spend your time: the center of the city or around. U-bahn is very close also, but we didn't need it through all the time, city is beautiful and we prefered to walk. We booked the standart room in the additional building and on check-in they updated it to the comfort one for free, which was very pleasant also. Breakfast is expensive, but we wouldn't take it anyway, for us it was more interesting to spend the time and the same money at the plenty traditional city places to eat. So all the staying in Cologne was wonderful, and one of the reason was the place to relax, next time in Cologne i think we'll return to this hotel again.

Very friendly staff. Close to a park if traveling with younger children or a family pet. Nice size swimming pool. The room was nicely decorated and had a machine for coffee, hot chocolate, or tea. The breakfast was wonderful.

Room was rather small, not worth 4 stars rating. Wireless internet not included and expensive. Parking place expensive. Breakfast rather poor. All in all, this hotel is worth 3 stars rather than four, and too expensive.
