Time was too short...
We had only booked 2 days and would have liked to stay much longer.
And I'm sorry we did not go out on the lake in the rowboat... That's definitely scheduled for the next time !
(It might be mentioned that everywhere in Berlin, summertime means mosquito time, so spray etc. is recommended.
We came prepared and were glad we did !)
For us, the Lakeside B&B in Berlin Falkensee was bliss – the perfect place to relax and recover from the big-city hustle & bustle, the 2014 World Cup festivities and the July heat.
In our room, we found the Canadian-style cottage atmosphere we had hoped for – unpretentious, comfortable, and equipped not only with everything we needed but with more than we had expected.
We enjoyed strolling through the quiet neighborhood (with some architectural surprises & a nice lakefront restaurant), and drove a few short kilometers to go shopping in Falkensee, discover Spandau, and explore the forests and swimmable lakes nearby.
For the beautiful lake out back, where we lazed next to the majestic weeping willow, watching the ducks paddle by and the bulrushes dance in the breeze, 10/10.
For the lovely garden, where we enjoyed prolonged nightcaps by candlelight, 10/10.
For the copious & delicious breakfasts so beautifully served with an artist’s touch and loving care, 10/10.
For the cozy breakfast room with its many delightful knick-knacks, 10/10.
And for the discreet yet attentive owners who won our hearts with many thoughtful touches, 10/10 !
