A very nice place to stay for a few days, very clean and quiet, only 10 mins from the city center
Landlord attitude was so terrible. Being so sarcastic upon we arrived. The rudest front staff/landlord we have ever confronted. Old accommodation. Noisy. Hard to find. Seriously NOT recommend for any international travellers.
1. head of reception impolite. was kept waiting at the front desk standing for more than 5 minutes, while the receptionist was chatting in german with another employee, didn' t even look at me! Sorry for disturbing your conversation! 2. worst matress i ve ever slept on, got backackes in the morning. 3. no elevator, just an old wooden staircase. no luggage facility. And the worst of all, you only get informed for this per email, after your credit card has been charged! None of the above is mentioned on booking.com. Nice surprise! 4. room was full of dust and had a weird smell. they use artificial fragrance (a plastic box with a green liquid), but this only makes things worse
My general opinion about the hotel is positive. There is a fridge and a kettle on the floor.
Reception works at 12.30-19.00 (12.30-16.00 weekends & public holidays) Therefore, if you come earlier or later you may have problems with your check-in.
- The room was spacious with a sink for washing. - The bedroom and the bathroom were clean - It was in a pleasant area of the city, only a short U-bahn ride from Central Station (2 stops, costing €1.30)
- The staff member we dealt with on the first day was slightly abrupt. She was not UNfriendly but was far from helpful. - On the last day we felt the staff were pressuring us to leave the room so they could clean it - It is a very lonely atmosphere - everyone keeps to themselves. - The street outside got quite noisy - The bathroom we had to share with 3 adjoining rooms, if you needed a shower/to go to the toilet you potentially had to wait.
- Limited Internet Traffic
The underground station is only 5 minutes walk from the hotel.
My girlfriend do not like the shared bathroom. Anyway, I do not mind at all.
It is really nice pension with friendly and charming administrator Martina, she has awesome sense of humour, don't hesistate to approach her, if you need help. Pension is situated near city center on small quiet street. Enjoy this calm german atmosphere, because city center and Old Town are noisy places with thousands tourists on the streets. Pension is located in old historycal building with wooden stairs. Bathroom was clean. Room was also clean and quiet. Rather new furniture and TV with german channels. Excellent opportunity to practise your language skills. And one more point - new visitor find gift from pension - little candy on pillow. P.S. Martina, it was very pleasant opportunity to meet such cheerful and hospitable person like you - thank you for good advices and willingness to help! Take care!
In my room window was closed by louvers with strange mechanism. I decided not to risk and didn't open window. Hall stairs creak, so try to be quiet, while you go to your floor. And if it is possible, it would be better to have longer-working reception. My bus came to München late and I was scare, that reception can be closed. Fortunately, Martina was waiting me and made check-in.
I stayed in this pension for 2 weeks and everything was good. Staff was very helpful and maids were ready to bring a hair-dryer, cleaner for dishes and clothes-pegs. I had a balcony that went to the yard between 3 houses. The location is great. There're not many people in the street, there's a supermarket, veganes restaurant & bar "Bodhi" that's open till 3am with deliiicious food. I've never stayed in such pensions: with a shared bathroom and no place to cook (there's Saturn near where you can buy a cheap rice cooker if you want to cook yourself) but this experience was nice.
It was quite noisy in the evening till midnight as there're many cafes near but we couldn't close a window because it was quite hot (this may not be a problem in autumn or winter). No lift. Get ready to carry your luggage! Be careful: there's only a fridge and a kettle provided for 4 rooms.
Minutes from Schwanthalerhohe U Bahn Exceptionally friendly staff Cleaned daily TV Fridge, kettle, microwave Neighborhood A +
Every noise in shared hall audible through thin doors Can't just knock on other room doors--key necessary or shouting from window Very slow internet, costs 1 euro
The room was very pretty and the neighborhood is lovely, despite being a little less central. It felt safe and very local. It really transmitted the feeling of living in Munich!
I found the wifi policy a little weird. Nowadays most places offer free unlimited wifi, and there you had to pay and you had a limit. I asked if I could pay more and get more data and the answer was no to prevent illegal downloads. The limit is more than enough for looking at emails and social networks, but as a solo traveler, i use skype a lot and that was just not possible there. Also, even though the room was amazing, the mattress was too soft for me and I had a lot of back pain when trying to sleep.. However that is just a personnal preference.
Nice, comfortable room. Decent location, not too from from an underground station.
Must arrive at certain times to check-in (12:00-19:00), with appointment. Slightly inconvenient as we had to interrupt our day for that.
It has a great location, very quiet, and only two stops from the train station. Martina, the owner, has done a beautiful job on updating the property and is very helpful. Great for the Deutches Museum.
Good location, close to main rail station and metro stops
Location, it is located in a very quite and nice suburb.
The floors you have to climb when you have big luggage.
Excelent staff. The hotel manager was very friendly and polite. The hotel it isnt in a central location, but is not far from downtown and its close to a subway station. Everyday the room was cleaned and the shared bathroom was in good conditions.
Nothing at all.
wifi is not free
Good value for money. Quiet location but still restaurants etc. nearby.
