Centrally located, grocery store opposite to hotel, offices and shopping centers, tourist sites all around. Friendly staff. Calm area, though very core of West Berlin.
Poor or no Wi-Fi signal in most rooms.
Polite and helpful personnel. Calm place. No street noise. Very central location in West Berlin just off its main street. Grocery store opposite the hotel.
No elevator. Small TV set. Trouble finding Wi-Fi connection in my room.
This charming hotel is excellently situated, close to large shops, restaurants and the city open top buses. It is very retro in style and pristine clean. I had a spacious double room to myself, with a magnificent bathroom and plenty of hot water. Beds were comfortable and breakfast extremely varied and plentiful. The owner was very welcoming and helpful and spoke excellent English. I intend to return to Berlin at some stage and will definitely stay at the hotel again.
Staff was amazing, great breakfast, awesome location, will stay again anytime I'm in Berlin.
Wifi dropped out one night, was perfect the rest of the time.
The staff are friendly. They allow us to check in earlier than the usual check in time.
Toilet. The shared toilet has no exhaustfan. Room. I booked a room with double bed but we got twin bed. Breakfast. Limited choices. Wifi. You need to go to ge kitchen to get a connection and we were almost end of the alley.
One half block from kurfurstendamm Excellent breakfast Sleep very well
perfect location, breakfast, staff, clean
Great location, very helpful and friendly staff/owners. Personal attention, home made brakfast, everything makes you feel like home. Definitely would stay there again.
Wifi signal might be quite week in some rooms.
Very friendly and helpsome staff
Staying here was like staying in a room in someone's apartment but with all the service you expect from a first class hotel. The decor and layout was appealing with lots of personal touches you don't get in a "normal" hotel, but not so much so as to feel cluttered. The pension is on three sides of the 3rd floor of a large building which is occupied by some offices and private apartments. My single room was spacious, with a hand basin, large wardrobe and a small table and chair with a large window overlooking a courtyard. The breakfast room was similarly delightful, full of light with plants in a huge bay window. The German style breakfast was served personally by the owner Chris who catered to my personal preferences. Other items were available to self serve. Chris also was very helpful with advice for navigating the city.
I had booked a single room with a shared bathroom. The toilet was very close but the shower was some distance around the corridor. As this hotel's rates are so good next time I would choose a room with its own bathroom. I noticed there was one next to mine.
This is a lovely bed and breakfast style Pension hotel right in the heart of an incredibly fashionable part of Berlin. The Zoo, stores of all kinds and public transportation are all very nearby. The owners are very friendly and conscientious. They loaned us a hairdryer for our stay as the bathroom didn't have one. Breakfast is great. We'd definitely stay again.
This is an older building, so it can be a bit stuffy in the summer. As an American I had to get used to the sit down shower, but that isn't really a negative as much as a cultural difference.
Really nice breakfast. The staff were very pleasant friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean. The location was excellent and close to public transport and Hop on Hop off bus. We would stay at this hotel again, and would recommend to other travellers.
It was difficult to locate the correct street entrance. The initial instructions did not say that the hotel entrance is on the third floor. Instructions should say take the lift to the third floor.
Staff location Friendly service
Only one shower
Shower was a bit far from my room, and this hotel would be good for older couples. Terrible wifi connection
The hotel is well-situated for seeing the city. There is a metro stop just down the street and a bus line that goes directly to TXL airport. The hotel is family-run and the staff is very nice. The price could not be beaten, especially considering the inclusion of breakfast.
The hotel is quite old and in need of renovation. Because of its age, cleanliness is subpar. Breakfast lacks variety but is still pretty good. Wi-fi can be spotty at times.
The staff are excellent, helpful and friendly! The location is central with plenty of shops and restaurants around! All kinds of public transport are available within the vicinity!
We could not connect to the Wi-Fi from our room, we had to go to the reception area every time we needed to log in! There is no toilets inside the rooms
Very nice staff and really good, home-like breakfasts. The location of the pension is perfect - couple of steps to u-bahn station and plenty of shops and restaurants on the spot. The facility is very quiet and comfortable (they even let you leave your baggage behind to pick it up later on the day of departure), so really we couldn't ask for more.
Poor wi-fi coverage but then again, the pension is located in a really good spot on the city map, so there are many wi-fi networks to interfere.
staff are so nice. We like her.
We had a very spacious room with a seating area, and facilities to unpack. The location is quiet yet half a block from the Ku'dam and metro. Staff was so gracious and efficient. every need met.
all was good
Location. Just 5 minutes from Kurfurstendamm yet in a quiet street. 10 minutes walk from Zoo Garden station (we came in by train from Schonefeld Airport). Very friendly and helpful owner. As others have said, it's not a modern or boutique style hotel. It's homely, which was charming for us. The rooms are old-fashioned in decoration - almost retro now (!) - but very clean. Our bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious enough to have comfy chairs in as well. Wifi. We got wifi in the room but you have to ask for the pass code as there is a form to sign. Breakfast. Good choice of fruit and cereal for breakfast with meat, cheese and boiled egg also. Overall, for price and location it was great for us. The hop-on/hop-off City Tour bus stop is 5 mins walk and we found this great. And the hotel sells tickets.
Doesn't seem to be any way of independently switching heat on/off in the room. We weren't cold but sometimes a little boost when you come in from the cold is nice.
Friendly staff. Pleasant atmosphere...hot water showers.......WiFi very good in common room
Nothing to complain about.
The location – especially at this price – was terrific. Herr and Frau König were courteous and helpful hosts: I was greeted personally by name at breakfast. Very quiet room despite being in the middle of teaming, throbbing West Berlin. Apropos the room: quite large with comfortable beds, and an en suite bath, which was spotlessly clean with fresh towels every day, and enough hangers in the wardrobe, a rarity in hotels regardless of the price.
Due to the layout of the house internet and wifi were a disaster. It worked well in the breakfast room, which is next to the office, meaning probably also the router. It's okay if you're not planning to work in your room, but a booster would help.
The hosts are very friendly and prepare a very nice breakfast. Everything is very clean.
The bed wasn´t particularly comfortable, just ok.
Chris (owner) was wonderfully attentive to our needs. She provided us with a good breakfast each day and answered our many questions regarding the building and Berlin (pre and post cold ward).
I am really glad I picked this hotel in berlin, incredible, especially for the price. My room was charming and comfortable. From the pics I thought my room would be small, but it had plenty of space and I loved the tall ceilings and large windows, and the skeleton keys. I got to peek in some of the other rooms and they were awesome too, all different. Staff and owner were friendly and helpful, and the owner speaks English too. I arrived in the morning after being on the train all night, and I was hoping to just drop off my heavy bag and check in later. The owner instead got my room ready right away and with an upgrade, was so nice! I felt right at home, great breakfast room, great location, and interesting old building it is in. It was great that the breakfast was included and you don't have to go out for it, as there is so much to see and do there, I was gone all day. I liked being able to wake up and immediately take my coffee and breakfast, then get ready to head out. The location was perfect, quiet street but close to all kinds of action. Really loved this place!
couldn't get internet reception in my room, had to go to breakfast room to get online. fruit in breakfast room sits out and attracts little fleas/knats
