I really enjoyed Hotel Pieper -- 10-minute walk from everything: train station, main sites! The rooms and public spaces are very, very clean and the decor pleasant. The dining room has an old world charm but the rooms are modern, yet cozy. I was extremely pleased with this hotel. Finally, and best of all, the breakfast was the best I've ever had in Germany -- a very big selection (cereals, cold cuts, exotic fruit, eggs, sausage, bacon and lots of good German break) for only 7 Euro! Great place!

The breakfast buffet was amazing!!! Well worth it. Location is Ok - not too far from centre. Staff were lovely and very helpful - no complaints! It's not the most luxurious hotel but our stay was comfortable and enjoyable - value for money. Wouldn't stay in this hotel for any more that one night. But It was perfect for our needs.

The hotel is very well located, 2 minutes far from the Porta Nigra, market place and shopping streets. The welcome was very nice, the guy tried to talk english as much as he could, and he gave us a city map with the hotel and the 'must-sees'. Room was ok, clean, quite, with a free bottle of water. We got a twin room, although we had asked for a dubble room on our reservation. Plus I must say the beds are really not comfortable. Good that we were only staying one night.

The staff are friendly, the rooms comfortable and convenient. The variety of food available on the breakfast buffet was stunning! The shower was hard to regulate and the tap also provided water that was either scalding or cold.

Near the centre of Trier, good sized room, nice selection of food for breakfast, good value for money, efficient staff Would have been nice for a foreign traveller with limited German if the information in the room was also in English; No reception made checking in trickier (although these were both minor issues)

This hotel is a nice place to stay. The breakfast is spectacular. The staff is easy to work with. The location is reasonable w/ only a short walk to the train or main center of the city. I would stay again. Slight smell of tobacco smoke even in a non-smoking room.

I liked how close the hotel is to the city centre. It's good value for a short stay. Room was clean; toiletries weren't available but towels were. Bed was firm (which for me is a good thing). Breakfast costs 7 euros extra, though (but there's a good choice of items). I would have appreciated if the staff could have assisted in helping me carry my luggage into the hotel & up the stairs (no lift). Also, the walls are paper thin - you can hear the doors slam and people talking in the hallway. The volume on the TV can only be lowered - they removed the "up" button. There was some confusion over my reservation, and I'm perplexed as to why they didn't simply email me back to double check my arrival date (the problem was sorted out with little difficulty, thank goodness). Additionally, they didn't reply to an email asking about directions to the hotel from the train station (luckily, a local student helped me find my way). But on the whole, I was pleased with my stay.

A phenomenal deal for the money. Since I was traveling alone, it was exactly what I wanted. I don't know how a double would have compared to a single, but my small single was perfect for my needs this trip.
