Plaza Hotel Magdeburg  

There's possibility to choose type of room at booking.com: twin or double. I wrote that I need twin but when arrived it was only double available. If I knew that before arrival I would change for another hotel for sure.

Friendly reception and a good restaurant next door. Low price compared to the other possibilities. Large beds with one large mattress. Close to the bakery (300m) where breakfast can be purchased at 4€ per person (instead of 13€ per person at the hotel). Free parking at 6pm until 8am in front of the hotel. Rest of the time disc parking (Parkscheibe) valid for 2h. Public transport to town center stops at the door step (tram 1 and 10). The regular schedule stops though already at around 9pm. Walking is possible, takes about 30minutes.

The first room we received was not cleaned properly and the bathroom smelled like a public restroom. There was no problem to exchange the room to a cleaner one. There are dark carpets throughout the whole rooms. The cleaness of these is questionable, especially because dogs are allowed in this hotel. We would only recommend something that is special, therefore a "No" at the recommendation question.

Garden restaurant enclosed by 3 sides of the hotel. Underground parking/which was an extra charge but worth it.

Plaza Hotel Magdeburg is een viersterren hotel in een twee sterren buurt van de voorstad Sudenburg. De gebouwen aan de brede Halberst"adter Strasse zien er DDR-verwaarloosd uit. Maar het hotel is splinternieuw en oogt tintelfris. Het ziet er van binnen uitstekend uit. Er is in de straat ruim gelegenheid om te parkeren. Er stopt een tram niet ver van het hotel die je in vijf minuten tot in het centrum rijdt. (mooie moderne trams). Het hotel is comfortabel, er is een goed restaurant ,kortom die vier sterren zijn niet onterecht. En de prijs is daarbij zeer gunstig. Magdeburg is in WO II zwaar verwoest,maar er staan nog best wat interessante oudere gebouen. Zeer verrrassend is het wooncomplex van de fantasierijke architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser. Je kunt tot bovenin (fraai uitzicht). Bovendien is Maagdenburg (inderdaad van de halve bollen, natuurkundige proef) zeer groen, en ligt het schitterend tussen vertakkingen van de Elbe.

Hotelzimmer bedürfen eine Renovierung, Wasserflecken an den Tapeten um das Fenster herum und auch im Zimmer teilweise abgerissene Tapeten.

Der Service und die Freundlichkeit des Personal. Das Frühstück ist ok. Der Preis 13,00 € pro Person ist allerdings etwas hoch. Ich würde es wieder buchen.

Kamer aan straatkant met veel lawaai. Internet voor 2 Euro/uur was niet beschikbaar. Alleen dure T-Mobile abonnementen vanaf 600 minuten beschikbaar.

Schnelle, unkomplizierte Buchung, späte Anreise war kein Problem, "Standardzimmer" ist gute Idee, gemütlicher "Elbdampfer mit aufmerksamer Bedienung. Gute Lage an der Staßenbahn mit allen Optionen zur Fahrt in die Stadt.

Dazu kann ich keine Angaben machen - hierzu fällt mir nichts ein !

1. Lage ausserhalb der Innenstadt; 2. kein 4-Sterne-Segment - eher 2,5 Sterne, 3. nicht empfehlenswert !!!!!
