Although I have known the Hotel Rappen for many years and enjoyed meals in its excellent restaurant, this was my first stay as a hotel guest. I only had two nights to stay in the town on a solo trip that needed to be booked at short notice, and saw the one remaining room overlooking the Münster on booking.com. It seemed too good to turn down, and I was not disappointed. On the last night of my stay, and although I was the last guest to come down for breakfast, I was greeted very courteously by the owner, and shown to what felt like the best table overlooking the Münsterplatz, where the staff looked after me so well, I could happily have sat for the whole day! I can thoroughly recommend the hotel and am looking forward very much to my next visit.

The location was great for walking around and exploring the town. The view of the church from our window was outstanding. Although parking was not located next to the hotel the parking garage was close and with the reduced rate provided by the hotel very resonable. The staff was very helpful explaining the parking lots. We stayed over a weekend - Saturday and Sunday nights. Saturday night was very noisy. We believe a music event was occuring close by and the bass from the music was impossible to ingnore. It you are looking for a good locatoin for night life on the weekend this would be a perfect location for you.

Wonderful traditional German hotel, located right in the heart of the city. The apartment was clean and spacious, and the traditional German breakfasts were good. Everything about the hotel was clean and meticulous. Though we speak basic German, the hotel staff was also very good at English and was very helpful. Simone was a dream - she took us under her wing and helped us at every opportunity. The hotel restaurant is both inside and on the square on the outside - very good food, and of course beer and wine. We were there during the annual Freiburg Wine Festival, which made the Muensterplatz a bit crazier than normal; I can imagine what a quiet relaxing place this would be otherwise, but it was nice being within walking distance of all the fun. From the hotel, it's also an easy walk to the tram to take you part-way up the hill to the observation tower overlooking Freiburg.

The view of the church was amazing and it was my second time staying at this hotel. I stayed here 9 years ago and not anything has changed with the room/bed. Standard plain room but did have view.

Staff helpfull. Breakfast very good. Position of hotel very good. Let down by the hotel being some what tired. We stayed 4 days in room 33 with only a dribble of hot water from the shower or basin. This was reported to reception but nothing changed. It is realy sad to see what could be a lovely hotel under performing.

Hallo, gefallen hat uns die Lage, die freundliche Atmosphäre und der Service- Hallo, es fehlte (nicht viel) etwas Komfort. Alle Sitzmöbel im Hause waren uns unbequem, besonders im Zimmer, 2 bequeme Stühle sollten möglich sein, aber auch im Restaurant.

единственное достоинство отеля - его расположение прямо в сердце города у мюнстера. все остальное очень плохо - неудобные маленькие комнаты, шум за окном постоянный (в том числе колокола мюнстера, которые, помимо того что отбивают каждый час, начинают звонить с 7 утра долгими мощными перезвонами), очень неудобно заезжать на машине (через пешеходную зону, ждешь штрафа постоянно) и, конечно, очень завышенная цена за номер (мы платили по 125 евро за ночь, хотя красная цена отелю - 40-50евро (выше не тянет).

Dit hotel is uitstekend om de stad per voet te ontdekken. Zeer centraal! Zodra de ramen dicht waren, was er geen geluidsoverlast van het Münster of het nachtelijke uitgaansleven. In de zomer lijkt me dit ondraaglijk, want zodra de kamer verwarmd was, had ik problemen met ademen. Het hotel beschikt wel over allergie arme kamers.

Расположен в самом центре старого города, с видом на собор С самого утра звонит колокол в соборе каждые 15 минут. Собственной парковки нет, так как отель находится в пешеходной зоне. Очень старый ремонт в номерах Every 15 min since 6 am cathedral is ringing. No own parking becouse hotel situated on the walking area only. Too old everything in the rooms.

Die Freundlichkeit des Personals war einfach super. Richtig familiäre Atmosphäre. Die guten Tipps zum shoppen, Bar etc. waren genial. Wir kehren bestimmt wieder einmal ins Hotel Rappen ein.
