This self contained family apartment was ideal for us with its own door from street. Very spacious and spotlessly clean. Could not hear loud bells of the Munster unless windows open so we all slept well. Lovely breakfast in characterful breakfast room.

We had kettle and cups and a fridge but no tea or milk was provided. However my husband went to ask and we got a jug of milk and box of teabags so no problem.

Great location - very friendly staff

It is not a hotel, more a restaurant that rents rooms (you access them from behind the restaurant - no elevator - no easy to access reception)

Our apartment was spacious with 2 bedrooms, a living room and balcony. It was at the back of the hotel so very quiet. Loved that it was on the town square, Easy to stop by for a rest or to dodge a rain shower. Breakfast was wonderful.

Hard to find hotel reception. It is a side entrance, off a side "alley" and up the stairs one floor.

This hotel is situated in a square dominated by the huge cathedral and within a very short walk of all the museums and places of interest. A market is held every day (except Sunday) so there is always masses going on. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice.

You either have to sleep very deeply or not mind the sound of cathedral bells for they peel on the quarter and then there is a long peel at 6am ish and just before 8am. The room was on the small side with no air conditioning so it got very hot.

We stayed in a three bedroom apartment that was comfortable and fairly roomy. The staff were helpful whenever we spoke to them, and happily let us check in late even though we had missed their deadline. They also suggested a good place for a quick visit to the Black Forest area itself, pointing us towards Titisee, a lake with a swimming area that our kids raved about. The location of the hotel is perfect, facing right onto the square with the church and the market.

There was a bit of confusion about how to reach the hotel, as it is in a pedestrian zone, and we couldn't get a clear answer on whether we could drive to the hotel to drop people off, before leaving to park. At the time it was just a matter of poor English, which is obviously understandable, but we had also emailed the question and received no response. But in the scale of things this was a fairly minor issue.

The hotel was in the center of all of the cultural activity. It was an easy walk with suit cases from the DB train station and close to area attractions. We enjoyed the courteous staff and clean room. Breakfast was good and the coffee was great. I will recommend this hotel to others.

The bells in the church, within 40 yards of the hotel, were loud but beautiful. I'm impressed at the positive role the church plays in the community.

Loved the location, staff, breakfast, size, beds and balcony. Would recommend this hotel!

Apartment a bit nosy very early in the morning. Apartment is on the back side of the building so you hear the deliveries VERY early.

    great location and friendly staff

Another hotel shower that nobody would put up with in their own home. It had a tiny partial door so that if guests shower comfortably the floor ends up all wet. You have to hold the shower head the entire time to protect the floor.

Reception was not manned during 8am to 8pm.Also we departed in the morning of 9 apr 14 at 6 am.There was only 1 key to go out of the side doornwe have to leave the key in the reception desk. Imagine if we accidentally shut the exit door. No other way to getinto the hotel. We r sure to miss the train to frankfurt n also miss our flight to singapore. God bless us, everything went peacefully.

Excellent location right at the Münster. Hard to think of a better place to spend a weekend in Freiburg.

The facilities/level of comfort did in my view not exactly match up to the price. Very clean and nicely kept, though.

The staff was very accommodating and personable. The room overlooked the morning market. The restaurant always had beautiful fresh flowers and excellent food. I was very happy with the location, condition of the hotel, view form my room, and being in the very center of town on the munsterplatz!

Anyone who would complain about this hotel would have a problem with something anywhere they go. The hotel is delightful to visit in.

The location is superb. Room had a perfect view of the cathedral. What was particularly striking was the absolute silence and stealthiness in which the market vendors established their stalls early morning.

Arrival was a bit confusing; did not quite know where to go and where reception was.
