Location if the hotel was outstanding right in the heart of Freiburg, close to all shops and markets, food was plentiful and staff very accommodating.
Its very close to the cathedral, didn't realise the bells would go all through the night, so If your a light sleeper take some ear plugs and close the windows.
Very convenient location for daily market, Christmas markets and shops in the town
Some noise from the adjacent property at night and into the early hours that disturbed our sleep (room 12).
Great location and a fine meal.
The Church Bells!
The bells chime every quarter hour and then toll on the hour. Very loud.
Bells of Münster and people loudly discussing something right beneath our windows.
Great location as well as the farmer market in the plaza.
Staff was very helpfull Great location Very clean hotel Nice breakfast
Loved the location and the morning market was so authentic and fun right outside our doorway.
Location was good, staff helpful, room clean and well-sized
Parking was a little way off; it is possible to drop bags at the hotel before parking.
Nice location and great breakfast.
This self contained family apartment was ideal for us with its own door from street. Very spacious and spotlessly clean. Could not hear loud bells of the Munster unless windows open so we all slept well. Lovely breakfast in characterful breakfast room.
We had kettle and cups and a fridge but no tea or milk was provided. However my husband went to ask and we got a jug of milk and box of teabags so no problem.
Great location - very friendly staff
It is not a hotel, more a restaurant that rents rooms (you access them from behind the restaurant - no elevator - no easy to access reception)
Our apartment was spacious with 2 bedrooms, a living room and balcony. It was at the back of the hotel so very quiet. Loved that it was on the town square, Easy to stop by for a rest or to dodge a rain shower. Breakfast was wonderful.
Hard to find hotel reception. It is a side entrance, off a side "alley" and up the stairs one floor.
location very nice and helpful staff very good hotel restaurant
location, friendly hotel staff, excellent family suite, own entrance.
rude restaurant waitress when wanting a black forest gateaux & coffee. Expensive family suite.
The best location for us; Excellent breakfast; Staff was very polite
This hotel is situated in a square dominated by the huge cathedral and within a very short walk of all the museums and places of interest. A market is held every day (except Sunday) so there is always masses going on. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice.
You either have to sleep very deeply or not mind the sound of cathedral bells for they peel on the quarter and then there is a long peel at 6am ish and just before 8am. The room was on the small side with no air conditioning so it got very hot.
Lovely hotel in a great location in the old town. Staff very friendly & helpful and English speaking which was a big help.
Location of the hotel Great breakfast
The beds The room - "apartment" was not well appointed for the price Lot's of noise on 2nd level
Location, its unbeatable
No aircondition, rooms extremly warm hard to sleep at night No WLAN Price especially if you include the above two negative points
We stayed in a three bedroom apartment that was comfortable and fairly roomy. The staff were helpful whenever we spoke to them, and happily let us check in late even though we had missed their deadline. They also suggested a good place for a quick visit to the Black Forest area itself, pointing us towards Titisee, a lake with a swimming area that our kids raved about. The location of the hotel is perfect, facing right onto the square with the church and the market.
There was a bit of confusion about how to reach the hotel, as it is in a pedestrian zone, and we couldn't get a clear answer on whether we could drive to the hotel to drop people off, before leaving to park. At the time it was just a matter of poor English, which is obviously understandable, but we had also emailed the question and received no response. But in the scale of things this was a fairly minor issue.
The hotel was in the center of all of the cultural activity. It was an easy walk with suit cases from the DB train station and close to area attractions. We enjoyed the courteous staff and clean room. Breakfast was good and the coffee was great. I will recommend this hotel to others.
The bells in the church, within 40 yards of the hotel, were loud but beautiful. I'm impressed at the positive role the church plays in the community.
