We had a wonerful time at this well appointed hotel 14 minutes by car from Stuttgart center but out in a forest with wonderful walking trails and the Berenzee. The staff was ultra helpful and the food terrific. The sumptious breakfasts that were included could have sustained us for the whole day. The rooms were comfortable with wonderful showers. For the price it would be hard to beat. We were a family occupying three rooms and had a splendid time. Well done, Waldhotel Schatten!!

The smallest of complaints would be that there wasn't free wifi in the hotel. There was a free computer and printer to use in the lobby and wifi was available throughout from a TMobile hotspot for a fee.

We loved the room and the friendliness of the hotel. We would go there again.

The beds aren't very comfortable.

The staff was fantastic. Very helpful! Large breakfast buffet, great food. Garage parking.

20Km from Stuttgart center. We took a cab to train station (12euro), then train (8 euro for day pass 6 people),. Our return trip we took taxi from Stuttart center (30 euro). Hotel in beautiful wooded area.

The breakfast was delicious and the spa was fantastic. The spa is only not open early in the morning. I stayed for 2 nights, and the first night my room was awful. The windows were right next to the restaurant, so you couldn't open your windows without smelling cigarettes and having other guests see into my room. Excellent service though - after complaining I was imediately moved elsewhere. The single room is the same square footage as the double and the single bed is very generous in size. The bed was comfortable and the linens very soft. Standard shower - overall a very basic room. Clean!

There is no way this hotel is currently rated at 4 stars. Maybe at one time it was, but it is outdated and carpet is worn. The hotel is in need of an update. My room didn't have any soap or lotion, and it was hot (no a/c). Quite frustrating with the window issue (see above). Service was excellent -when you could get it. There was only one person staffing the desk and there was always a line. Frustrating. I wouldn't stay here again - the price was expensive for the out-of-the-way location. Traveler Beware: this hotel is not train friendly - click away if you are not traveling by car.

Overnight stop required. Room was adequate. Did not have time to investigate much. the location was hard to find but once there seemed nice

The waitress could not answer a simple question about part of the meal. I understand that I cannot speak German but she said she would find out for me and never even went to ask and I know the reception staff all spoke good english. The meal I ended up with was awful though my husband enjoyed his. Make sure you understand german menus if you go here!!!

The restaurant was quite good.

The entire facility needs work--especially the exterior. We experienced unusually warm weather during our stay, and to our amazement no windows or doors were opened to allow the place to cool down. All rooms, the restaurant, and lobby were quite warm and uncomfortable.

The hotel is quiet but close to the city center (10 mn by car)

I got the worst room in the hotel 105! No view and if you opened the window the hotel staff is smoking just behind it.

Great breakfast and helpful staff, free and payed parking options. Convenient located about 1-2 KM driving distance from Stuttgart, only convenient with car.

We only stayed one night, but the hotel was lovely,clean, quiet, convinient for our purpose and the staff friendly and reliable. All we needed.

Es hat mir das letzte mal schon gut gefallen und die Lage für meine Termine war in angenehmer Umgegend und so will ich auch noch ein nächstes mal dieses Hotel wählen.
