The Reception staff were excellent, and the location for anyone wishing to be centred in Trier was good. Car parking facilities and the breakfasts were also very good The hotel had an empty 'cold' feel about it. Our room had the benefit of no curtains and an outside perimeter light which shined in the bedroom and living room areas all night long making sleep difficult. The bedroom was sparse and very basic with no headboards on the beds, only one pillow, a rock hard bed and no clothes hangers. The room had an attached kitchen area with no cutlery or china. Television was basic, with no satellite channels, no dvd player and only local Deutsche tv stations available The cleaning of the room was appalling with nothing more than a towel change and duvet folding carried out. The 'Gymnasium' consisted of two ancient cycling machines which had no apparent adjustments for size or resistance.while the Jacuzzi was a normal domestic bath with a water jet. Overall this hotel provides a pretty negative experience

The location, cleanliness and especially the wonderful breakfasts (among the best of our tour) at Residenz Hotel am Zuckerberg helped make our stay there enjoyable. (Note: we spent 2 days with the Rick Steve's tour group and added an extra day on the front end so that we could rest up for the following tour) There was also a Residenz Hotel "appreciation" party being held in front of the hotel when we were there that even we, as guests of the hotel, enjoyed. This was our first hotel on a 14 day trip through Germany, Austria and Switzerland with a tour group and I can honestly say the only thing we found a bit disappointing was that we really felt like we were in a hospital room. It's hard to complain about that since everything else about our stay there was wonderful. It just lacked the atmosphere we expected.

Friendly, helpful staff. Good location. Excellent bang for the buck. Beds were typical German -- thin single mattresses and not comfortable.

Rooms were very comfortable; we had a bedroom, a bathroom, a lobby, a living room, a balcony and a kitchenette. All very clean and of good size. Very good position for the town and river. Very good value for money. Highly recommended.

Friendly staff. Calm. Parking for just 7euro. And so large apartment that really contains bedroom + guestroom + kitchen. We'd like to have such flat for living. It would be nice to have a bath plus to shower. The bed was double i.e separated in the middle with wooden frame, not easy to make love.

Lots of space; good breakfast; handy to shopping area and the historic sites. It wasn't the hotel...my reservation had been made for two nights and they did not have a record of it. After trying to check in I had to go out of the city to a different hotel for the first night, which was expensive and inconvenient. They did find a space for me the second night. The Reception was very efficient and courteous about the booking error.

Spacious appartment. This is an elderly complex, states in the details admittedly, but you feel quite intrusive. You are given no choice as to whether you use the car park there is no parking on site. The car parking is difficult to say the least especially with language barriers. If you are booking this for the kitchen bear in mind unless you are `longstay` you will have no crockery, saucepans or cutlery in the kitchen so unless you take your own, forget it and eat out Oh you get a kettle. I would not recommend this hotel

The room was very spacious, which was great for family traveler. The property was very close to Roman ruins, Dom, city centre, restaurant, and etc.. Staffs were very nice and helpful. I wish I stayed more than a nigh. It did not have bus tub despite its large space.

Big and clean room. Good beds (unfortunately two separate beds). Little kitchen with refrigerator. Very good location (a few minutes walk to city center). Easy to park your car in the garage of the hotel. Two separate beds. Not a "cosy" or stylish hotel (but very efficient)

we liked the convenience of locale - we could walk to the train station very quickly and restaurants were practically in the front yard. The surroundings and respect for the older residents were superb. The breakfast was filling and delicous - a great value. The room was huge and very quiet at night. We enjoyed having the kitchen facilities. We were surprised there were no cooking suppolies but I'm guessing we could have requested them. We would recommend this hotel.
