and very comfortable room
Good hotel if you need to be in this area.
Be careful the hotel has changed name! The room looks quite new but the other facilities like corridor would need to be changed.
Its strategically located
but the staff are very unfriendly.
We had a reservation for 3 apartments (confirmed additional correspondence with the reception), When we arrive (late evening) we received information that we have only 2 rooms (for 8 and 10 people!). Finally, after a long conversation we had 3 rooms. Not apartments. This is my first such nervous and stresful situation for many years. I not recommend this hotel
For my needs the hotel was very well located, just a short morning stroll from the university buildings where I was attending a conference. Reasonably quite despite busy street in the front. Good check-in hours from 14:00 to 23:00 and a friendly call at ca. 19:30 if I would be checking in before 23:00.
Probably recently renovated, but wear already showing. Extremely small and low toilet with brown discolourations under the rim of which one can only hope they are caused by the iron in the water. Clumsy log-in and slow WLAN. In all steeply priced for what you get.
Comfortable sitting area, clean and tidy, Good breakfast, helpful staff. Very excellent Italian restaurant around the corner to the hotel. Ask the staff to direct you.
Be prepared if you use their underground parking, we have a large car and it was VERY tight.
It was close to the University that I was studying at which was perfect for me. Train station is around the corner and was a quick trip to the city. Overall very pleased!
Wifi was a bit touch and go. Bed was two single beds pushed together and the blankets were small.
My experience here was horrendous. The staff were incredibly rude - amazingly so. Not only was the mattress horrible uncomfortable, but the bed itself BROKE. Literally. The one of the slates under the bed cracked and the bed frame continually fell straight through. When I went down to tell the staff what happened, rather than APOLOGIZE, they gave me a nasty look, came up stairs and grudgingly took off the mattress, lifted up the frame, realigned everything, and then looked at me and told me to fix it myself next time. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO FIX A BROKEN BED MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY ON MY VACATION! Their wifi was horrific, only allowing one user per room to use it at a time and requiring you to re-login literally every 10 minutes. The refrigerator in our room did not work (staff didnt care), they gave us two smaller than twin-size blankets for a queen bed, rather than an appropriate sized blanket. When I asked for a normal blanket for two people they simply said no. Words can not express how AWFUL the staff here were. I am not one to ever write reviews (this is my first ever) but I had to share this experience to prevent other people from making the same mistakes. Your better off sleeping on a bench - it would probably be more comfortable.
EVERYTHING. The whole experience was horrendous.
The room was nice and quite, they offered garage parking. Breakfast was various and plenty.
No toiletries were provided, only hand-wash soap. The restaurant next to had a quite slow service, they served more like average food.
Lack of mini-bar/fridge
location of the hotel, flexibility after standard hours of reception working hours, politeness, hospitality
Overall good stay
Some stuff surprised me, E.G. very poor quality of shower or the fact that if you pay for the place in the garage you have to pick up and then give back the keys everytime you are entering the garage which, for 13 EUR/night, is a bit annoying.
My single room was enormous! -really a big studio flat. The location was great; very close to the S Bahn (15 mins to centre) and in a beautiful, green, residential area. The hotel staff were so friendly and encouraged my efforts to speak german which was brilliant as I have studied the language but was very rusty. The nearby area is charming; some nice places to eat next door to Lichterfelde West S Bahn plus some useful shops. I also had a great meal in the eaterie down stairs; very friendly staff. Fantastic value for money
Near transport Good restaurants in area
Long travel time to center
good location good bed
bad WiFi bad facility bad staff
Nice and cosy hotel
The restaurant had superb dishes and great customer service.
Parking garage was too low for my van to fit thru so had to park across the street.
Comfortable enough for business purposes and close to transport connections.
Absolutely minimal facilities and services for a three-star hotel, e.g. no fridge, hot-water jug but no tea or coffee, spartan facilities overall.
Delicious breakfast, the way windows open, good size accommodation, clean floor, clean bathroom, layout of the room with a door between the entrance/bathroom area and the bedroom, sofa bed in a double room, the restaurant serves breakfast in the morning, and Mexican food in the evening, very kind staff, taxi cabs arrived in a few minutes after phone calls, conveniently located from the conference venue.
One night there was a loud couple just downstairs, and the other night there was a visitor right next door whose television was really loud. As it was high summer and we had to keep the windows open to fall asleep, it was somewhat difficult.
- no problem with parking - very modern and comfortable hotel
This place might seem out of the way, but in fact it's conveniently near the S1 commuter line and two bus lines. There's a nice cluster of restaurants and cafes by the Lichterfelde West S1 station
You have to keep your windows open for ventilation, which lets in road noise from Unter den Eichen, a busy street.
Large room with double bed, desk, smal sofa and nice bathroom with bathtub. Closeness to the Freie Universität Berlin. Very good breakfast: savoury and sweet, fruits, scrambled and boiled eggs, everything you need and wish for).
I have stayed in this hotel for six nights because of it's proximity to the Freie Universität Berlin, which suggested this hotel, among others. Wifi worked only the first night of my stay, which really is problematic when you are there to work. A technician "solved" the problem after a couple of days, but it was very difficult to connect to the internet and when you were connected, the signal wasn't strong enough, so I couldn't send e-mails.. The weather was very hot during my stay (july 2014) and in spite of the nice-looking room I had booked, there was no air-conditioning or real fridge (only a tiny very loud plastic box which I had to switch on and off to keep a small bottle cool). The room was always too hot, even at night, which was uncomfortable.. The woman at the reception was nice, but didn't really react when I have told her I regretted that my nice room didn't have air-conditionning and that wifi only worked properly during my first night.
no wifi, useless toilet, no air condition
The room was not very clean. Breakfast was good but not nicely arranged eg. the butter was openly as block placed and that at a temperature of over 30 degrees outside. It was completely melted snd unusable.
facilities comfort close to the S-line station
wifi connection was very poor
