Score from 348 reviews Very good
This 4-star hotel is a 2-minute walk from the scenic Lake Constance and just under half a mile from Friedrichshafen Stadt Train Station. Guests use the indoor pool, sauna and Wi-Fi for free.
Score from 527 reviews Excellent
This family-run hotel is situated 100 metres from Langenargen boat harbour on Lake Constance. Hotel Klett offers a beautiful terrace with views of the lake.
Score from 129 reviews Very good
The room was clean and the bed comfortable It was quite spacious he breakfast was excellent and dinner at the restaurant superb
The hotel was rather hot as was our room If we opened the windows, the traffic noise was disturbing as it is located on a very busy road
Hotel is close to the train station and an easy 15 minute walk to Central Munich tourist attractions. Great breakfast selection. Staff was friendly.
Our room faced the pedestrian walk way which was fairly noisy at night with the cafe as few steps away from the hotel. I would recommend a room facing the court.
The staff was friendly and helpful. Facilities were quiet, clean and pleasant. Food was wonderful. I loved the quaintness of the outside and the modernness of the inside. (We stayed in the new addition.)
Parking was limited.
Good location for the lake and friedrichscafen. Nice breakfasts. Ecellent air con as it was very hot. Free parking.
Problem checking in as we had booked superior room with sofa and seating area and had problem getting such room.
The spa facilities were terrific with a steam room and sauna at no extra charge to the original room. Also the breakfast was truly exceptional with varieties of loose leaf tea and amazing fresh fruits with helpful staff.
The location says Friedrichshafen but it is far enough out of town that you will need a taxi or to drive into town and pay for parking if you are going to get a ferry or have dinner.
The restaurant is very good
It is too far out of Friedrichshafen and on a busy road
Location, restaurant team and food
Too hot room
The warm atitude to the visitors, ready to help, nice breakfast, good restaurant.
Had to get bedding changed cos seemed used, hairs on sheet. WiFi awful, only worked properly in reception. Not many parking spaces although I did get one.
We stayed in a newly built part of the hotel. The room was really nice and comfortable. Breakfast was great. We recommend a visit to the Zeppelin Museum in Friedrichshafen.
Not enough parking places around the hotel.
It is not a 4-star hotel, neither for its services nor for the accommodation standard.
The food in the restaurant was excellent, some of the best meals we had in Germany. Staff were friendly and helpful and bike hire was reasonable.
The location was quite a bit outside of Friedrichschaffen and there was really nothing around the hotel apart from houses. No shops or places to go within walking distance.
Location, staff, breakfast.
The bed was a bit too soft.
windows towards the street should be better isolated-noisy wall are thin, you can hear the neighbours
The restaurant is excellent. The staff is very nice. The sauna. Very well located (200m from Lake Constance beach/public pool) and 6 km from the city center.
Well run and great location
Clean and comfortable and the breakfast was good.
The distance to Freidrichaven could be a problem. Also the lack of parking as we had to park in the street.
Superb hotel - very good restaurant, good relaxing breakfast - very friendly staff - family run hotel - good position close to bus stop and railway station - close to lake and well positioned for most parts of the northern shore of Lake Constance.
Very hard to fault the hotel
Nice,clean and comfortable.
Unfortunatley on a busy main road so quite noisy with the windows open.
The hotel was just CORRECT, nothing special to like, neither to dislike.
Single romm was very small, bathroom was extremly tiny and uncomfortable. All prententious and much overpiced. Location - yes, close to lake but not perfect: far from anything but swimming pool. Would do better to be a motel rather than posh hotel.
The staff were pleasant and it was close to Bodensee. Dinner was fine.
Room was exceptionally hot during the nice sunny weather and air-con was noisily trying to overcome that. The sloping roof in the small room made sure that you got out of bed on the right side. The TV was not watchable due to interference or other problem, not corrected despite my pleas. A long way to the centre of Friedrichshafen through heavy traffic.
Food was excellent. Beer was excellent. Service very attentive to specific needs.
Unless you arrive in personal auto, the distance from the center of Friedrichshafen could be a problem.
The room and facilities were absolutely excellent. Most of the staff spoke fluent English and all were extremely helpful. The continental breakfast had a very good and fresh range of items all served in a lovely room. The hotel is very easy to find and parking was not a problem. The room was cleaned to perfection each day and my room had a view of the Alps and the Bodensee once the mist cleared. Would fully recommend the Hotel-Restaurant Maier.
A little noise from the road could be heard when the window was open.
We have chosen this hotel for our discovering of Bodensee area but could not tell you that it was a perfect choice. The hotel is really dated. It still got 4 stars but do not put your attention to it. From one side it is not the real village Gasthouse without any stars (there are a lot of them in the south of Germany and Austria) where you do not need to put your attention to facilities but just feel the atmosphere of the countryside and from another side it is not the normal 4* city hotel with all facilities. Looking from the “formal side”: room is big with a lot of light and two windows. Bathroom is big with two washbasins and window. Looking from the “feeling side”: room looks really dated and cold because of colors. Carpet on the floor looks not really clean (but I must be fair - is clean at the same time). Bathroom interior and design comes from seventies and you clearly see it (at the same time everything is working properly – German quality). Breakfast is normal. It is not bad, it is not good, just normal. Coffee quality is really poor. Staff is also normal, enough friendly but not really welcoming. The only one lady was absolutely 100% perfect at the reception at our arrival date (my fault not to remember her name to present here). Hotel got restaurant in the building which got a Michelin guided label on the door (have not visited it because of price reason: for 22.5 eur for Wiener Schnitzel I would travel to next village to have it more than twice cheaper). No air-conditioning in the room even if it is declared on Booking.com web page of this hotel. Parking space is not enough and sometimes it is rather tricky to park the car especially if you are driving some bigger minivan or suv. All in all, if I decide to come back to Bodensee, I would consider another hotel and not in Friedrichshafen but let us say in Meersburg.
Great food, Quiet room, nice beakfast, friendly staff
