The location is very central. This was our second stay at this Hotel and was to be a special weekend for my wife’s birthday and also our 35th wedding anniversary. We had stayed this summer with friends from California that had come over to visit us in Brussels. That stay was good although I got very little sleep because of the outside street noises. This time however will be our last stay. First during check in they made me move my car so far away that I considered leaving the luggage in the car until I could get a Taxi to bring it down. We are 58 and tend to travel with items we expect we may need. Then we get probably the smallest room available even though we mentioned the importance of the weekend to them. Then the topper. On Saturday night which was my wife's birthday she decided that she would like a dessert. When we walked into the restaurant and asked for a table to have dessert and wine we were told that this is a restaurant and they refused to seat us. Refused to seat guest staying in the hotel because we did not want dinner. Just dessert and a nice bottle of wine to enjoy for our special occasion. We have never in our 35 years together been treated so poorly and insulted. I would only recommend this place as a last resort, and never book for a special moment in your lives. My wife laid awake until after 1:00 am wondering why they treated us so poorly.

Lovely old hotel with everything one would ask for at a reasonable price. The hotel restaurant was busy and served very good and reasonably priced food - some great homemade dishes. Glasses of local wine at sensible prices. Room was a bit small but not a serious issue.

The location is great, easy to get about town. Too hot in the rooms, and if you opened the windows it was so noisy that sleeping was impossible. I would only stay here again if the outside temperature was under 15C.

Christiana's WeinArtHotel
This 3-star hotel offers design rooms with a wine theme that features free wired Internet and flat-screen TV.
Excellent, 8.8
Score from 169 reviews
“The WeinArtHotel appears to have recently undergone an almost total update to all its rooms, with the result that they are now very modern and beautifully equipped. The owners and their staff are friendly and accommodating - making fresh scrambled egges on demand for the lovely breakfast. The dinners are excellent and there is a magnificent wine list. Half the rooms overlook a quiet street and the other half overlook the busy L47 road into Bernkastel, although these rooms have lovely views of the River Moselle and the whole Moselle Valley. Recommend you decide what you want and ask when booking. Observations: the internet is fully accessible but only by cable (loaned to you from Reception) so wireless-only devices will not be able to reach the web. Secondly, the hotel is quite a long way out of the centre of Bernkastel (1.2km). However, there are buses on the main road and if you consult Google Earth, you will see that there is footpath down past the local schools down to the riverside and it is then a lovely walk along the river into town. Why go out in the evening - the restaurant at the hotel is SO good. Restaurant is closed on Monday nights. Also, there is no lift to the upper floors (where all bedrooms appear to be located), so travellers with mobility problems may not find this hotel so convenient. Overall: Highly recommended but remember the observations made here.” Clive, Cowthorpe |

“Whenever we travel in Europe/Mosel area our first call is to see if we can garner a room at E. Pruem. The rooms are beautifully appointed (over the years we've tried at least four of them) and we feel at home here. The spaciousness is appealing to us as we are used to ample room in the USA. Heated bathroom floors and in some rooms the high ceilings and large windows overlooking the vineyard are a gift of beauty. We love eating breakfast on the terrace overlooking the Mosel...unfortunately it was a bit to cold for us this time. Also, we find the clientelle interesting.” Christel, Murrysville |
