The family-run Hotel-Restaurant Zum Babbelnit is situated in the Finthen district of Mainz, a 10-minute drive from Mainz University and the Botanical Gardens. It features a country-style restaurant serving local cuisine. Decorated in warm colours, the rooms at Zum Babbelnit come with a flat-screen TV, as well as free wired internet access. Der Geruch der Restaurantküche zieht durchs ganze Treppenhaus in die Flure und auch in die Zimmer. Mein Zimmer lag im 2 Stock am Ende des Flures aber im Laufe des Abends war der Bratfettgeruch da.

Das Zimmer war ruhig von der Straße weg gelegen und geräumig. Etwas unpersönlich. Matratze leider weich oder durchgelegen? Frühstücksraum sehr unpersönlich. Keine Gurken keine Tomaten als Beilage dafür Obst. Ich saß alleine in dem großen Raum, es kam keiner um zu fragen ob alles ok ist. Keine Zeitung lag bereit. Nur Radio an.

Auf der Suche nach Papier hab ich im Schreibtisch noch die Pizzaschachtel des vorherigen Gastes gefunden. Die Steckdose in der der Fernseher angesteckt ist wirkt eher halbfertig und rustikal. Beim Schreibtisch fehlt eine Steckdose um einen Laptop anzuschließen. Im Bad stehen drei (zum Glück wenigetsens isolierte Kabel) aus der Wand. Im Frühstücksraum gab es weder Zeitungen noch jemandem bei dem man etwas nachfragen hättte können.
