MEININGER Hotel Köln City Center  

Hotel staff were amazingly friendly and accomodating. They even put some toys in the room for my son to play with! Location is also very good.

The shower hadn't been cleaned and the heat registers needed dusted.

We stayed 2 nights, one week apart from each other and had 2 different rooms. The location was good and the hotel is just a block from the u- Bahn station. The price was very affordable. Breakfast is fine. Because our rooms were on the first floor right above the reception, the wifi was available to us.

The bathroom in the first room stunk. And the beds in the second room were only bunk beds. They were comfortable enough, but not long enough for tall people.

It's alright if you expect a hostel, not a hotel. Good for budget travellers. Decent private bathroom (shower) and breakfast (buffet), although the same stuff was served at breakfast every single day. Safe area with many bars and restaurants. Cologne in general, and some areas in particular, seem very popular with gay people and gay-friendly, with a nice atmosphere. Good hostel for a citytrip weekend.

In a nice area, but a bit far away from the center. We didn't mind the walk though. The mattresses are fine for kids, but not very suitable for overweight or tall people. The hostel is a bit noisy and the room door was so heavy to open, it felt like we were staying in a bank safe.

Location was quite convenient..

The room was very small & internet too was quite slow + twice it was not working..

Nice clean hotel that served its purpose of being a bed for the night whilst attending a trade show in the city. Facilities adequate for what I required.

Given the electronic key for a single room that was already occupied.

location is not as good as described, stuff is awful, they have actually given to us the wrong directions to the airport, and we has to run at the end to catch up the flight; room was very cold.

This is a nice enough hotel. We stayed 2 nights and our room was kept nice and clean. The beds were comfortable and the shower a good one. There was also a small tv in the room. We were doing other things so didn't try any of the facilities on offer such as bar, restaurant, internet access etc.

The breakfast was the usual cheap German fair of meat, bread, cheese, jam, cerials, eggs, but quite poor. They ran out of juice, bread and coffee on the first day, none of which were refilled. The same thing happened on the second day to but at least the guy doing the breakfast refilled the coffee. I wouldn't recommend taking breakfast here. There are plenty of local coffee shops with better products and value for money.

Good location, nice staff, clean, would stop there again.

The hotel was in a great location and easy to get to from the aiport. It was close to a number of different stations and was situated within a nice area of town close by restaurants and bars.

The room was very small. There was three of us staying in a 4 bed room with an ensuit. If there had actually been 4 of us I don't know how we would have moved around the room. The room was also very noisy. You could hear people in other rooms, outside and you also got the noise from the lift. This was dissapointing as I have stayed in the Meinenger in Berlin and had an amazing room.

Good value, very relaxed, very friendly & helpful staff, cheap Glüwein!! Really good shower!

No ventilation in bathroom, lamp was broken, tv didn't work very well, but we didn't come to Germany to watch tv!

The hotel is not far away from City Center and can be easily reachable either by foot or by public transport. The decor is quite usual and seems a bit "used", but generally the hotel is cozy. The reception is working 24h and friendly.

The price for a room is rather low, but one have to pay for each additional service. When we came two beds weren't made up and there was no one of pillow-cases. Smoking is allowed in a public lobby, while free wireless internet is only in this place.

Nice location....cool atmosphere...near the city center. And the HBF..many restaurants,shops, in a range of 500m....night life
