Score from 178 reviews Excellent
We stayed 6 nights. The location is great. A short walk or bus ride to town. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable of the area and its activities. The room and bathroom were very clean, comfortable, and spacious with good lighting. The breakfast was great. We would definitely stay here again.
I know it's not uncommon in Europe, but the king size bed was two twins pushed together. There is no top sheet on bed...comforter only.
We chose this hotel because we could not get a room at the Edelweiss Resort for the night we were getting back into Germany from Italy. And while Edelweiss is nice, I am very glad we weren't able to get in. We would have missed staying at this hotel. Our room was very spacious along with the bathroom. Both were very clean. The bed was large and we liked the headboard that was in the silhouette of the Alps...pretty cool. We had a balcony which allowed for a good view of the mountains. Breakfast was included in the price of our room and was a good mix of fruit, bread, eggs, bacon, and pancakes. The staff was friendly, especially the young man we spoke with when we were checking out. We ended up having a nice conversation about the beautiful weather Garmisch was having at the time and how the U.S. and German consumer taxes differ. Overall, it was a good stay and I will definitely look into staying there again when I revisit Garmisch. Less
There was nothing that we didn't like.
Accommodations, staff, courtesy, cleanliness, comfortable, great breakfast (variety of American and European options), dinner menu is fantastic, service is just outstanding. Great wifi connection.
An outstanding breakfast buffet, an excellent variety of foods in a relaxed atmosphere. The staff is most helpful.
The metal bed frame was cold and I scraped my leg on in twice in the dark.
Clean hotel, nice distance post lunch/dinner stroll from the town centre. Great view of the Mountains. Good breakfast.
Staff don't smile and I felt like I was being shirt fronted at reception, like, what did I want? Maybe it's a southern german thing.
Andreas the receptionist will make whatever to help you no matter what your requests, will help in planning your trip and make all the reservations required and the smile never leaving his face, he must give a courses in the art of customer service for all receptionists in hotels of Europe. i also want to thank (Sameer) the restaurant employee who was very helpful to me and my family
Every think was excellent...
Outstanding breakfast, Very helpful staff, Beautiful views from bacony.
limited choice of english language tv channels
A little far from train station
Still can't quite understand why Garmisch is so bloody expensive! Sweet touristic town but most expensive hotel of out 16 night tour of Germany!
Very comfortable room and quiet room with a great view of the Zugspitze and a balcony to sit out and look at it. The staff were very friendly. Breakfast was excellent. Parking is available outside the hotel.
The wetroom shower didn't drain properly, leaving the floor wet - a mop was provided, but didn't work too well.
Location is outstanding Staff is professional Is one of the best 4 star hotel in Europe
Very friendly staff; bus stop literally outside the hotel. Evening meal good value for money.
Road busy and noisy.
Very spacious family room (we are the family of five) with a big balcony and a lot of light, very clean, good position and easy to find. Buffet breakfast was very abundant. Nice personnel.
clean room, comfortable beds, excellent breakfast
Garmisch, the Old city, the gorge
Icy welcome Noisy place (on a Busy road) No Lift
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We were given a room with a terrace that provided an almost 360 degree view of the mountains. The location was great and the views were breathtaking!
I liked everything, Staff, room, location, and breakfast. I liked the orange juice machine offered in breakfast.there were variety of options in breakfast. The hotel have elevator which had facilitated luggage carriage
Room was very comfortable for 3 adults. Breakfast was very good. TV was better than what we had in bigger name hotels in Berlin, Munich and Dreden
No real complaints. Elevator is very small and only goes to the second floor which may be inconvenient for people on the third floor with lots of luggage
We enjoyed clean rooms with comfortable beds, beautiful views from the room balconies, and the delicious and expansive breakfast buffet (especially the machine that turns oranges into juice on demand!) The staff was friendly and accommodating, even helping us with our laundry in an expedited manner. Wish we could have stayed longer: the Rheinishcher Hof was just an overnight stop for us on a road trip. But we enjoyed it very much. The free parking was another benefit.
Spacious room on the top floor with a great mountain view. Breakfast is wonderful. Restaurant is on the 1st floor.
The tub did drain properly. There was old toothpaste in the glass cup in the bathroom. Did not meet my expectations based ratings I read before booking.
Fairly close to the center of town for walking around shops/restaurants etc. Centrally located for sport activities and sightseeing. Staff spoke English well and were very helpful with directions and information. Health spa was small but a nice addition. Breakfast was adequate/typical and dinner was good to excellent...depending on what you had of course.
Parking was somewhat limited. I'm not a big fan of those shampoo/body wash dispensers in the shower/sink, a four star hotel should at least have real shampoo and soap bars, maybe even some body lotion...that's just my opinion though.
Very friendly staff Extremely great value for money Free sauna
A bit outdated furniture
Nice, old fashioned hotel, located out of the centre. The young woman, Nina, at reception is extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble for her. Our Maxi room 32 was large with a 2 seater lounge and armchair, foot stool and large TV. A reasonable size bathroom, that unfortunately floods when you shower. The large balcony overlooks the front street and has a view of the mountains. The free bus stops directly in front of the hotel and takes you to the Centre of town. Dinner in restraurant was delicious and very reasonable.
Safe is much too small and has a key lock. Bathroom floods when showering. Doors still use a key, need swipe cards.
