Very good breakfast. The bread was not the freshest but was quickly fixed with a fresh batch of croissants straight from the oven!

The staff are exceptionally friendly and professional. The hotel is located in a very nice area, it has a huge sunny terrace facing the river and the adjoining breakfast room also has a nice river view. The breakfast had a very good choice of fresh and dried fruits, bread, cheese, etc., all of which was very nicely served. Our room was small and it did not face the river but it was quiet at night and we did not regret because we used to come back only for the sleep. The location is good for visiting other towns in the area.

Ian and his wife were wonderfully kind hosts. They are very welcoming and helpful. It's a great story how they started a hotel along the Moselle as Englishmen. On arrival, we were able to join a wine tasting from Rebenhof (https://www.rebenhof-schmitz.de/) by Johannes Schmitz right away. Excellent wine by the way! Breakfast was also excellent.

Have stayed at this hotel previously, this time under new ownership. We had a lovely big room (apparently the biggest in the hotel) with a large bed, fridge, adjacent sitting/TV room and large bathroom with twin sinks and bidet. I booked a room with a river view balcony which was more than big enough with a view to the Mosel. Very good breakfast provided in the usual high-quality continental style with some hot food also available. The car park was opposite the hotel. Situated on the edge of Urzig which is a really pleasant village, not overly touristy with lots of walking paths and vineyards all around. Bernkastel-Kues is about a 10 min drive away. Would gladly return on our next German adventure!

We really liked the location but above all the super service. Hayley and Ian Shackleton and their team did everything to make our stay worthwhile. Perfect breakfast buffet and even a boatride on the river.

Location was perfect: directly near the Mosel, with a 5 minute walk to the village centre and the scaffold where you can embark for a Mosel cruise. Although there is a small road in front of the hotel, it did not bother us. And with the windows closed, we heard nothing (very well insulated). We had a nice and very clean room with balcony, with fantastic view of the Mosel. Parking space right in front of the hotel (you can keep an eye on your car). The owner was very responsive and helpful, he kept asking if everything was OK and if we needed something. There was a minibar in the room (and 2 free bottles of water), and an honesty bar in the hallway. Breakfast was very well organized (table with room number), and very good. Everything you needed was there. And in case something was missing, it was offered separately to you. And on Sunday, you receive a complimentary glass of Sekt :-)

The stay was amazing! The accomodation was located right at the vineyards with an amazing view on river Mosel and beautiful hiking trails. The customer service was outstanding: Fresh and self-made breakfast (which also included many vegetarian and customised options), sightseeing tips, and warm conversations. The hosts were passionate about the hotel and did everything to provide the best vacation time. The rooms are clean and comfy. We will definetly come back!

Ian & his wife are super welcoming to all guests, providing lots of information, a welcome drink, (free) rent of a range of (motor)bikes etc., helping with restaurant bookings, asking actively for feedback, ... Breakfast is superb! Nice fresh pastries and pancakes, fruit salad, muesli, warm (English) breakfast, ... lots of choice and it's all delicious! Location is also great, easily accessible and with a nice view on the Mosel. Would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the region!
