Set amid the Lüneberg Heath in the town of Salzhausen, this hotel boasts peaceful surroundings and excellent road connections, being only 15 minutes from the A7 motorway and 40 minutes from Hamburg. The rooms at the traditional, family-run Hotel & Restaurant Josthof are tastefully furnished and are all en suite. In the charming, rustic restaurant guests can look forward to a variety of seasonal dishes. Staff are happy to recommend grappa and fruit liqueurs, of which the hotel boasts over 250 types, and wine from the cellars. Hotel Rooms: 16, Hotel Chain: Romantik. Das Hotel wurde uns von Freunden empfolen. Es hat uns so gut gefallen, daß wir auf der Rückreise auch wieder dort übernachtet haben. Unterkunft und Abendessen waren hervorragend.

Den gamla atmosfären, byggnadernas stil. Restaurangen var långt från dess rykte som det var för 15 år sedan. Man ville göra sken av att ha lite internationell meny, men musslyckades helt. Förrätten Carpaccio bestod av tjocka kokta skinkskivor. En laxfile på risbädd var hårdkokt. Aptitretar-rätten kändes som utspädda fiskbullar. Summa restaurang: Botten

Freundliches, hilfsbereites Personal Gutes Frühstück. Ich hatte dieses Hotel wegen der positiven Rezensionen ausgesucht, aber habe nun nicht die leiseste Idee, was so großartig ("Fabulous") an diesem Etablissement sein soll. Bis auf Schmutzspuren an den Tapeten erschien das Zimmer nicht verdreckt, und war groß genug für zwei Gäste. Aber sonst? Das Zimmer lässt sich nicht wirklich abschließen, denn die Tür ist nur mit einem einfachen Buntbartschloß "gesichert", das im Zweifelsfall von einem Sechsjährigen mit einer Haarnadel geöffnet werden kann. Es gibt keine weitere Sicherung, die Tür zum Treppenhaus steht die ganze Nacht offen. Das Bett hatte zwei getrennte Matratzen, mit "Besuchsritze," und nach Auskunft des Hotels gibt es keine Betten mit durchgehender Matratze. Unsere Matratzen waren sehr weich, und fühlten sich für uns definitiv "hängemattig" an: Mit anderen Worten, schon etwas durchgelegen. Zur Unterhaltung stand ein Röhrenfernseher bereit. An den Heizkörpern blättert der Lack, die Gardinenstange war halb heruntergerissen. Die Aussicht ist Null, das Fenster geht auf den Hotelparkplatz (immerhin behält man sein Fahrzeug im Auge), der vielleicht 8-10 Autos fassen mag. Für 50-60 Euro wäre es okay, und der Lage sowie dem Einrichtungsstandard des Hotels angemessen. 90 Euro für ein völlig unbemerkenswertes Zimmer in der Provinz am Arsch der Welt halte ich für sehr ambitioniert: Da habe ich selbst in Großstädten schon für weniger Geld in beeindruckenderen Hotels übernachtet.

Der ursprüngliche Charakter der Baulichkeiten, die ich schon aus Kindertagen, als es noch kein Hotel war, kannte. Alles mit viel Liebe zum Detail zusammengetragen und ausgewählt. Gilt für den Restaurantbereich und den Eingang/ Diele etc.. Die Restauration ist tadellos, das Essen sogar als recht preiswert anzusehen, was heutzutage selten ist. Die Zimmereinrichtung hatte nicht das Niveau, was ich von einem Romantikhotel erwartete. Es waren Details, wie Bettdecken ( klumpig ) oder Zustand der Wandtapeten.Renovierungsbedürftig.
