- Very picturesque - Close to Lueneburg where most hotels were full - Personel did their very best to rectify a booking mistake - Restaurant was excellent
- A booking-error had occurred. Two rooms were booked for 2 nights and confirmed, but only one room was available. One party had to spend 1 night in another (good) hotel nearby. - Restaurant staff was overloaded, dinner took extremely long to be served
This hotel is part of the German half-timber building tradition. It has a rural feeling, but lies in a town with many restaurants, pubs, and cultural resources, including theater and music. The detailing is marvelous -- including a large tile oven and visible carpentry work.
The down-side of historic preservation is that you don't have elevators for your baggage or telephones in your room. But the modern features -- TV, internet, hot water -- all functioned beautifully. We had no complaints.
The hotel was in a charming old Bauernhof, with a very nice atmosphere and kind staff. Lovely cakes, supper and breakfast.
