This traditional hotel lies in Oberwesel’s Old Town, a 6-minute drive from the Loreley Rock. Its rooms offer a flat-screen TV and wonderful views of Schönburg Castle or the Rhine River.

We loved this little hotel, it has character and was really quite charming. Beds were comfortable, lovely big bathroom with a bath, wooden beams and a great atmosphere. It seemed to be a family run hotel, one person spoke English and was very helpful. There is no lift but help was given to get to the top floor. It was quite easy to get to neighboring villages. Breakfast was fine. Some train noise in the early hours but it wasn't an issue for me.
Great location, nice people, old town with Roman ruins, near historic castles and the Rhein.
Shower was substandard, no good place to set my suitcase in my room.
The great old building and the friendly host, Mark
Only staying one night and no Credit Card availability.
The proprietors were very very nice and helpful with tips for our trip. The hotel was a bit odd with dimly lit entryway, stairs. Hard to key in and out of front door due to lighting. Status of restaurant uncertain. Room was very nice. Location in downtown oberwesel close to boat dock can't be beat.
Location is near roman ruins with easy access to castles and other Mittelrhein sightseeing locations. The hotel is family run and the people that run it are very nice
Hotel was a bit old and funky, but it is also an old place on the Marktplatz of Oberwesel.
Ideally situated for the town and the Rhine.
Love the location; it is in the old town and close to the pier to catch ferry on the Rhine River. It is also walking distance from the train station. Love the buffet breakfast; so fresh and delicious. Love the room; it is so cozy and comfortable. We will definitely be back. Thumbs up to this wonderful hotel.
The host was EXTREMELY helpful. Very friendly atmosphere. Beautiful historic building. Very charming location. Family owned and operated. I can't say enough about the hotel. I look forward to staying there again. Very reasonable price. I would strongly suggest the hotel.
Friendly, helpful owner. Hotel with character and good location on the Rhine. Good breakfast.
Restricted parking depending on arrival time.
Clean efficient room. God breakfast and great location
Staff a little abrupt. Lobby area very untidy .
The owner marc made us feel very welcome. The food in the restaurant was very good. The building itself was very characterful with an impressive dark wooden staircase leading to the guest rooms with a big bullseye period glass window and a beautiful victorian tiled entrance hall floor.
the beds were hard and the bathroom door would not shut. bedroom needed some tlc and replacement soft furnishings.
Location - right in the centre of town. Friendly owners
Shower didn't work. Room with little natural light
The staff were amazing and were about as helpful as they could possibly be. Owner and Chef Marc Matzner speaks great English and will do everything to accommodate your needs. He often asked us what our plans for the day were, and was very helpful in recommending activities and giving travel advice. His wife was also very kind to us during our stay, arranging taxis for us and even posting our postcards. The hotel is also a restaurant and serves a modern take on German cuisine - very tasty and highly recommended. They have a great range of local wine and German beers. You can also buy wine from them at very good prices. The rooms were lovely - very clean and spacious. The hotel building was built in the 15th century, and the rooms have been very tastefully modernized, complementing the original style. The location is fantastic - in the heart of the Marktplatz, which is small but charming. There are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby (the hotel itself being one of the best). You are also in walking distance of the many medieval towers of Oberwesel, and can see the Castle Schoenburg up on the hill. The breakfast is fairly simple, but very tasty. Fresh eggs each morning (cooked differently each day) plus a buffet including cereals, meat, cheese, bread, jam, cake, fruit, etc. plus fresh tea or coffee. We chose Oberwesel as it was a good location from which to visit other Rheinland villages, and had a nice rustic medieval charm. We did not regret it! If you are looking for a hotel with some great German hospitality in a charming Rheinland village, stay here!
There was nothing to dislike, everything was great.
Location in a pretty village square close to the Rhine
Interior was old and very dull
Family owned, the proprietor was charming as was his little girl who helped serve the morning pastries.
We loved our stay. We did not eat our evening meal at the hotel but we were recommended to a local restaurant and had an excellent meal. We loved our very short time here by the Rhine.
Friendly and courteous staff, excellent location and a good breakfast. Good restaurants in the area, and the Rhine is just a stone's throw away.
The restaurant at the hotel was closed while we were there. I was a bit disappointed since I had read that the food there was good.
The owner was helpful and hospitable.
Hotel needs care, attention and better management. Website information is misleading because the restaurant is closed.
The manager was very helpful. I arrived at the hotel midafternoon on a Sunday and all of the local restaurants were closed. the manager provided me with a great sandwich and a glass of wine, which was all I needed.
Marc the owner was very friendly. We were the only guests with our friends and he opened up the beer cellar for us. Cooked a lovely breakfast.
Most helpful attitude of the proprietor, especially on arrival to find the Marktplatz closed to traffic due to a forthcoming Christmas Market. Also, as we has arrived on a Wednesday (his Ruhetag), he arranged for us to dine at a nearb hotel where we paid only for drinks - he charged the food to our account with him (we had booked a half-board arrangement with him
