Hotel Roter Kater

Very nice hotel. Lovely dining room and best ever breakfast. Handy to Wolfsburg.

Very Loud music till 3.00 AM. Might be a one off but was a real down side of a otherwise enjoyable stay. No WiFi As travelers we must have WiFi access to book Hotels ect. They did however arrange WiFi access at another Hotel in the next town.

Great room, fantasic beds, like home . And good food.

The hotel is in the forest on the bank of the river. Romantic...

1. Excellent location. 2. good staff/chef 3. comfortable bed and clean bathroom 4. being off season, price excellent.

1. At 6 pm on saturday, no reception and room key in mailbox. 2. no electricity in room ( director had to come to fix it). 3. room oil heater was only lukewarm and so had to sleep with sweater in bed. 4. bath water was luke warm probably since bolier was switched on late. 5. internet connection was faulty but finally was set right.

The location is idyllic and quite pretty. Staff was friendly and patient with my poor grasp of the German language.

The rooms could have been cleaner and the hotel could probably use some updating. The internet did not work, there were huge spiders all over the room, and the walls were very thin. I could hear full conversations from the rooms on either side of mine which made it difficult to sleep. The location is wonderful though and with just a little updating, I think this would be a wonderful spot.

The breakfast service was not as good as it could have been. Not even the tables were prepared for breakfast.

The setting was stunning - on the banks of the river! Staff were very welcoming and friendly.

Good location

Nice location at the river side, with rooms looking out over the river. Nice restaurant services - food is good value for money.

There were renovation works starting at 8 am. Also, breakfast buffet was not foreseen for large number of guests, and constantly running out of almost everything. Also, don't think it is good at today's age that a fee needs to be paid if credit card is chosen... This was not mentionned at the time the booking was made.

the hotel is just near the river Fulda and you can wake up with a beautiful view, dining also inside or outside just near river, in a valley with forest. The hotel is traditional but new design in the sleeping room. The restaurant is good and there is a bar with fine wine and good beers.

The entrance to the buiding was untidy and dirty. The room was very basic but the door to the balcony was broken.No mirror in the room.

Position on the river

1.Major building works going on were very disruptive 2.CHAOTIC SERVICE WITH CONSTANT FLOW OF DIFFERENT STAFF (THE CHEF CHECKED US OUT AT THE END OF THE STAY AND NOT SURPRISINGLY DIDN'T SEEM TO KNOW WHAT HE WAS DOING). 3. SHODDY BUILDINGS AND FACILITIES (2 STAR AT BEST) 4. POOR FOOD, AND BECAUSE OF ITS ISOLATION, NO ALTERNATIVES NEARBY 5. TV CONTROLS DID NOT WORK/INTERNET WAS VERY SPASMODIC AND PASSWORDS WERE CONSTANTLY CHANGED 6.DIFFICULT ACCESS FOR VEHICLES

The hotle was in a countryside location, very clean and staff were excellent, the hotel was kept clean and tidy, would recommend it to anyone, food was excellent along with the staff

they were carrying out refurbishments but was not a problem

Location, few kilometers from the city center near the river.

At my arrival the room that I had reserved wasn't available. The manager generously offered apartment without a window where I then stayed 2 of 3 nights. No discount. Wireless access to internet didn't work.

The hotel has a fantastic outlook on the river and was perfect for my visit to Documenta held in Kassel, 6 km up the road. There are free bikes to use and the restaurant does a good schnitzel. Room was small but fine for a solo traveller and had a balcony overlooking the river. Overall this was a good option to get away from all the art and feel part of nature, yet still be close to Kassel.

A lot of reviews mention the wifi issue, and I have to admit I had the same experience. It barely worked, even in the restaurant/reception area. Breakfast was really basic but adequate and you can fill up for a big day. This place is best suited to those who want a quiet experience and can live without being connected to the Internet - it's really a great and very cheap option otherwise.

Made very welcome stay 1 night whilst travelling back to rotterdam for boat home,beautiful location next to river but would need to go by car to get to town centre,

Lovely location right on the banks of a river, typical single room for travelers stayed in many like right across Germany. The booking said cash only, but they do take credit cards?

Хороший отель, прямо на берегу реки,просторные номера. Очень красивый вид на реку и деревню напротив. До центра города 10 километров. У отеля собственная просторная парковка. Ужинали в местном ресторане, всё понравилось.

Kamer was heel netjes en schoon, pas vernieuwd. Uitstekende bedden. Prima badkamer, balkon bij de kamer. Ligging aan de rivier, heel rustig. Ontbijt ruime keuze, dinerkaart: sober maar het eten goed. Zou er weer voor kiezen bij volgende reis.
