This was an excellent hotel, very centrally located with excellent facilities and excellent staff. I didn't like the fact that the full cost of our stay was debited at the point of booking - even the breakfast that you wouldn't eat if you didn't turn up.

We liked how centrally located the hotel was to the market area of Weimar. This hotel was also chosen because the staff speaks English and the front desk was open 24 hrs. A day which was important to us on our first trip to Germany. Hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas and was very festive. The price for breakfast is too high at 18 euros for the buffet. You can go across the street to one of the many bakeries and have a pastry and coffee for much cheaper.

The staff were all very friendly and willing to assist. For example I had lost papers and they helped me locate the required venues. The hotel was clean and comfortable and very well disposed given that the building was 150 years old! Food was good too. I booked on line and had a reservation number and a confirmation printed out. When I arrived at the hotel they could not find me on the system. As they had a room it was not a problem but imagine if they had not and the town was busy. I could have been in the lurch. It would be nice to know why this occurred so I can be sure it does not happen at future bw hotels

"Grand" is the best word to describe this hotel located in the heart of Weimar. Beautiful tapestries and rich wood trim adorn the walls in the main lobby. The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodated us in every way possible. We had a beautiful and well-appointed room overlooking the Goetheplatz. The hotel has a nice sauna and serves a traditional German breakfast. We look forward to staying here again on our next trip to Weimar.

The room was very comfortable with plenty of space and super clean. It had an excellent Sauna and wellness facilities The Bar was quiet and relaxed and the dining rooms large or small depending on your choice. This Hotel is under rated for what it offers.

It was my second time in Russischer Hof, where I stayed last year and truly loved it. Everything was perfect - we asked for a bigger room and received id, the bathroom was splendidly adorned, internet was free and this time we tried the excellent restaurant Anastasia - although it is not officially affiliated with the hotel, it is right there; and it was the best dinner we ever had in Germany. It was a marvelous stay again. The breakfast was not as good as last year - there were much fewer salads, herring, desserts and no Turingian specialties at all, although sparkling wine was still there.

Comfortable business and tourist hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location in the centre of the small city. Reasonable prices. As often in Germany, beds are much too soft.

Fazit: sehr empfehlenswert.
