The hotel is very close to a subway station u7, and to a bus station (5 minutes walk) direct to Tegel Airport. The staff is friendly and helpful. Despite the herebelow drawbacks it is a good value for money. The hotel is very old and you can feel it. The room I had was small, and the bathroom very big. The bed was small and uncomfortable. Breakfast could be better (on the 3 days I was there I never had any broetchen).

Best thing was the price. We had a triple room (although it was a double with a z-bed in it). We had breakfast once over the 3 days and it was very basic.

We liked the special atmosphere from the fifties. Such an original oldfashioned hotel with an open elevator for an horror film. It feels as a museum visit or visiting your grandmother. We didn't like the dangerous too hot/too cold shower, the separated beds and the damaged chair.

The hotel reception staff were very helpful. I stayed in a single room which was a fair size. However the ensuite facilities were too small and far too cramped. The free wifi connection was too slow and was only available in the reception area and not, as advertised, throughout the hotel. I would not stay there again.

We had the triple room and it was huge. It had 3 beds, a 3 piece lounge suite, massive windows, lots of light, 2 mini bar fridges and lots of space. Walking distance to Charlontenburg shopping area, buses and a 15 euro taxi ride to Berlin main train station. Close to supermarkets, cafes, bakery and a huge op shop. Great for families on a budget who want to eat in and buy meals from the grocers. Wi-fi also included. Wi-fi slow but adequate, no kettle for a cuppa but I did manage to get a cup of hot water for making a cup of tea. Needed a table in the massive room to eat or write/use computers. Traffic a bit noisy but OK if you have ear plugs. A bit too far from the main sites if you don't want to cab it into the main area where the museums etc are. Breakfast buffet is sliced meats, cheese, boiled eggs, rolls and spreads and very strong coffee as well as muesli. Enough to get you going.

I have stayed there several times and am now regarded by the staff as a regular guest. The staff recognise me personally by name and face, which makes one feel welcome! Some of the furnishings and decor in the rooms and communal areas could now do with updating/ refreshing. The curtains in the rooms are difficult to draw; the rails need lubricating, and/or pulleys need to be attached to curtains. These are minor suggestions though!

Very big room. We were 2 adults + 2 children, and our room was very big with a very high ceiling. The room was in classic style with plaster decorations on the walls. The hotel is few meters from a U-bahn station. The furniture were very old. The mattress were too soft. Wifi reception in the room was very poor and almost not possible (only near the door). No safe in the room.

The reception is open 24h/24. The breakfast was correct. Good location near the U-Bahn.Kind hotel staff. // La réception est ouverte 24h/24. Le petit déjeuner était correct. Bonne situation en face du U-Bahn. Personnel agréable. We booked a room for 3 people with 37 m2, with a double bed and a single bed. We had a room with 25m2 maximum, with two single beds and a a rollaway bed for the third person. Unacceptable. The housework was superficial: after mooving the beds to make a "double bed", we discovered a "carpet" of dust on the floor. The towels didn't seem very clean. Bad soundproofing. The decoration wasn't the one of the photos. Unconfortable beds.

Quite unique decor, great location - literally 3 min from underground exit, easy and quick journey to the centre. Decent buffet breakfast. Good size rooms. No frills but great value for the money. Staff speaks some English. Would definitely come back.

A me non interessa!
