We stayed in the quad room - all 6 of us (3 adults and 3 young children). The room was perfect for us, with plenty of space. The hotel is a short walk from the old town/shopping area...about 10 minutes.

We booked the hotel for 1 night coming back from Italy. We had a 4- person room which was nice and large. Only item missing that I can think of perhaps is a small fridge/mini-bar. Location was perfect for us, easy connection to the highway, and at walking distance to the city center where there are plenty of shops, terraces and restaurants to spend the afternoon/evening. Car had to be parked in the street of the hotel (doesn't seem to be a problem in that area) so no secured parking space (only 4 places in front of the hotel which you can reserve (and pay for).

Location was great. Breakfast was good. Checking in was a little difficult. There is only one person working in the reception/dining area. Door was locked when we showed up and had to wait. Room was clean but had to put the lamp on the floor because extension coord could not reach tv and lamp simultaneously. One quad room bed was configured in a way that one person had to step over the other if they had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

It is well located and in walking distance into the heart of the city. It is a nice historical building. The bed was too uncomfortable. The double bed was 2 separate single beds attached.

Not much! We only stayed one night. The hotel seems to be in transitioning remodel. The staff was professioinal and courteous. The "double" bed is two singles pushed together so dampens the ability to snuggle as a couple. The pillows are very uncomfortable. The "linens" are something to get used to. I will also add that it seems most hotels are set up this way for some reason. My guess is to allow furniture moving up narrow stairs. We stayed at the Schiller out of necessity, not by choice. The floors creaked really bad and are in need of repair. The city traffic on the main thoroughfare could be heard all night. One way streets and little parking make things inconvenient.

Proximity to historic center. Room advertised two double beds but one bed was a pull-out couch. I realize this is often the case when booking a room in Europe with two double beds but the second bed should be advertised as a pull-out couch. Found used quetip in trash can and long black hairs on bed and sink. Wifi only works in lobby though we were told it would definitely work in our room.

We had a really nice stay in this hotel. The room was spacious, good shower and quiet. When we arrived it was really wet but not wanting to waste any time off we went as we were really close to the centre of the town. I was feeling a bit depressed at the weather so as we were standing under an awning I turned and saw we were standing in front of a wool shop so the day became really brighter We ran out of paper goods in the room and replaced these at our own expense. The restaurant was closed in the evening but that was not to bad as there were lots of good eating places around

Nice reception staff Location, it was by far the hotel I have least liked from the point of view of traffic noise. This was not clear on the booking and as a result we had a sleepless night due to traffic noise.

I enjoyed my stay very much. The location was perfect for wandering in the old town. The room was clean, very comfortable bed and the breakfast was excellent. I also felt your staff - a lovely young woman who manned the reception desk and took care of breakfast and helped with a map, was terrific. I wish I had gotten her name, but please extend our compliments to her. A business is only as good as the employees and she was lovely. Thank you. There was nothing negative about the hotel.

The hotel was within walking distance to the centre of Freiburg. The breakfast was good, and the breakfast room was beautifully "old world". I booked a discounted room at 79eur, and was told on arrival this was a room at the front of the hotel on a very busy and noisy street. I had to pay 20eur extra for a room on the side, which was still quite noisy. The "on street" parking would be a pain for a long stay but ok for a single night. It was a very warm night, so the fan (no aircon) was not adequate. The room itself was fine but we did notice some dust - like on the fan. I would stay again if I could ensure a room at the back of the hotel - probably by booking direct with the hotel.
