Breakfast should have been until 11 every day, not only in the weekends. Not everyone is on business trip.
Overall good hotel , friendly helpful staff , good central location near the rail station & the airport bus stop. Good breakfast
you have to wait for 5 mins or so to get warm water in the bathroom sink or the shower , would also be nice to have slippers for the bathroom & better water seal from the shower tub as water seemed to pass to the bathroom floor. It was good to have BBC channel on TV but most of the time, it didn't work
My room was very noisy. As I asked to give me another room, I got an even noisier room. The stuff was not very friendly.
I joined my wife on this 3night trip as she started a new job in Kiel (I played tourist but we will eventually move to Kiel). I normally travel a lot - In 21 years I have stayed and even lived in some hotels. During the past 10years, I have spent 3.5years staying between two weeks and six months in a hotel, and this hotel takes first, second and possibly third place for best staff. We found exceptionally helpful and polite staff at reception, restaurant bar, breakfast and housekeeping. The manager deserves praise for finding and leading such a great team. The room came with good power shower, free transport ticket and free entry to Meridian Wellness are nice touches. Hotel is literally next door to the train station (take a right at the platform entrance) - Our room faced the train station and the minimal noise did not bother us even with window open. I have stayed in a few InterCity hotels and now use them instead of Accor hotel group where possible. Breakfast at €13 is worth it as you will pay more for less in the nearby mall or bakery.
I'm tall-ish (6ft/183cm) and found the double beds uncomfortable to sleep in when sharing with my wife. They are not long enough and a little hard (old beds for sure, possibly thin mattresses). The bed has a wood border making it uncomfortable for my feet. When I had the bed to myself, I could sleep comfortably diagonally. Still a great cost/comfort hotel - We will be returning to InterCity Kiel later in October and November, until we find a new home in Kiel.
Perfect for my first trip to Germany. Excellent, cannot fault it. The free bus ticket was an added bonus and an easy way to get around.
View from the room excellent. In the middle of the center Very friendly staff
weak coffee and we also think it s decaf , undrinkable. The man who is dressed like a cook walks and serves in the breakfast room has a very dirty white shirt on. There was no mayonnaise to make my extra hard cooked egg to dry to eat . Wouldn't change a 500 bill.
Close to Railway Station, Bus Station Shops and Harbor. Kiel is a city that is so compact that it encourages you to walk and there is nowhere more accessible to everything than CityHotel Kiel.
Very practical location, nice staff, clean room, and a city ticket upon arrival (although i didn't use it).
i couldn't log in to wifi, but i didn't need it.
I like the lication very convenient and easy to get taxi. Front desk staff are helpful.
No room service, no AC and I don't like our room it is very far from the lift. Internet is too slow.
The staff was very courteous and helpful. They were very patient. The rooms were very well done. I wish I could stay longer to enjoy the harbour view from my room. It was so close to the station that I could talk to the engine driver to wait for me :) Very convenient location.
close to railway station and city
Nice clean rooms; quite good sound insulation considering that it is part of train station. For overnight stay not bad.
We arrived late (few minutes after midnight), the night staff was a German-only speaking 'watchman' (?), when we arrived to the room it was occupied ! The corridors is approx 100m long, we were at the end and got another room, again at the end of corridor, but different floor. Not what you expect to run with the bags when you are just ready for bed. In the morning the 'real' receptionist was nice and apologetic, I at least we got the bottled water for free (~4-5Eur/1l ! and I it was my initiative to request that) It was a little hard to find, the main sign was turned off.
Good location and very nice and polite staff.
Bed and pillows very unconfortable. I was with a group and reserved a more expensive room, expecting to have more amenities or service. It was the same room as all other group members (with the same view to port).
Good location right next to the train station and close to the port. Ask for a room overlooking the harbour. Clean room, good breakfast and WiFi. Parking was 8 euro and is safe to use.
Staff very informative and excellent service
Staff are not friendly Rooms are tooooo small Hotel below standard
Near to the city center, nice view from the room on the harbor. Very complete rooms.
Breakfast is too expensive for what you get.
Good location , well run great staff
Bar and rstaurant closed due to refurb
Very nice room and clean. Good location
WIFI very slow, most of the time i couldnt use it
Spotlessly clean room. Crisp clean bedding and lovely view of harbour.
Building work gave bad first impression. The bed was a little hard and pillows non existent. Evidently if you ask at reception you can get another but we didn't know this until we left! Wi fi should be free.
Hotel is central, great Harbour view, shops, bars, restaurants, all reachable by foot, parkhouse next to Hotel, cheap rate for Hotel guests, very quiet, when you think you are in the City centre, helpfull staff, good Hotel for a good price
nothing, all in all a great Weekend, would book the hotel again
