Breakfast was diverse and interesting. Hotel near to the Marienplatz.
CNN was the only English channel and reception was poor
The best breakfast ever!!!!!!
Nothing to dislike!
Very good location, friendly staff, private parking, AC.
1. The extremely helpful, well informed Staff. 2. The excellent Breakfast food and the inviting dining area. 3. The ideal location for shopping and sighseeing. 4. Herr Peter...a true professional 5. The over-all ambience of the entire hotel. 6. The large shower stall in the bathroom. 7. The fluffy, soft pillows 8. Coffee available all day in the lobby. 9. The spotlessly clean rooms 10. The 5 Star treatment afforded to to this guest at all times.
Happily, there is NOTHING that I did not like about the Hotel Schlicker. I was more than pleased with EVERYTHING. I WILL return next year!!!! BRAVO, Hotel Schlicker.
Breakfast was delicious. The room was beautifully decorated.
There are many enthusiastic bell ringers within a few meters of the hotel and since there's no AC you must leave the windows open. The place was under renovation so there were some early and late construction noise.
Location Character Breakfast
Very small room
Very tasty breakfast with excellent selection of Bavarian standards in a charming room. Staff were professional and helpful. Good location for sights and shopping in old town. Taxi queue right next to hotel. S Bahn station near.
Standard double room was quite small. AC seemed not to work at all (needed if one closed the windows). Street front room fun but extremely noisy with window open. Free WiFi appreciated but only one device supported per room.
Construction and renovations going on during our stay
A really great location and the staff was really helpful. We enjoyed staying there.
Location in the center of everything you will want to see - within walking distance.
rooms a little small
very good location.clean and comfort.
Location, reception staff very helpful and a lovely breakfast
We only stayed in Hotel Schlicker for one night but I immediately fell in love with the charm of the old hotel. Once we ventured out I was so thankful for the location. You can walk to all the highlights of Marienplatz easily. The famous brew house is only two blocks away, the glockenspiel is less than a block and access to the trains is two blocks away. You really can't beat the location. As far as accommodations, we were in room 500. They use actual keys which I think is charming, but the room was one of the ones that had been upgraded so I was impressed with the size of the bathroom and the modern feel of it. The heated towel rack was a nice touch! Yes, it was loud. We had the windows open but after the World Cup game was over the shouts and yells woke us up so we had to close the windows. I did not notice the bells when I was sleeping, and when I was awake, I loved hearing the sounds of the city. But if you are a light sleeper, either bring some earplugs or ask for a courtyard room. Breakfast was a large buffet but there were limited options for a vegetarian - meat EVERYWHERE. There was even bacon in the scrambled eggs, so that part was a bit disappointing. The staff was very nice and helpful and the room was spacious for an old hotel, but you just cannot pick a better location for a stay in Marienplatz.
Under construction, but that didn't really impact us. Could be a bit loud on the streetside.
Location was 2 blocks from Marienplatz. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good.
The hotel was under renovation so the common areas were a little messy, but I'm sure it will be great when done.
This hotel is all about location, but in addition, the rooms are clean, and the beds are comfortable, Hotel is 5 minutes from "everything", including Marienplatz. Breakfast is excellent, and the staff is very friendly. Near by are cafes, breweries, pubs, and yes, Burger King & McDonalds right next door.
We reserved a "quiet court room", but due to deliveries and people working, there was nothing "quiet" about it; slow, or non-existing wi-fi
The breakfast, the location, the price.
The bells from Marienplatz church waking me at 7am each day.
Less than a block from Marienplatz which was so convenient if I wanted to rest during the day. Many nearby restaurants. Close to Sbahn.
Men in the courtyard below my window talking when I wanted to sleep. Room was a little warm with no A/C but not uncomfortable.
We loved our stay. Everything was just great. Lovely, everything you could ever want breakfast. They loaned us bicycles which we used all day and they were in good working order.. Everyone was so friendly, esp. Peter Kock at the desk and a man who worked in the breakfast room and brought out our bikes for us. I am sorry that I did not get his name. He was very nice. It is a great location. We had a garden room (which cost more) but it was quiet. Our 2 children were in a room facing the street and it was very noisy. It is a great location....close to everything ( a block from Marienplatz City Hall and a metro station.
Proximity to shops, restaurants and historical points of interest were excellent. We were only steps away from the central market and many of the well know breweries and beer halls. Staff were very friendly and helpful in locating certain amenities. Couldn't ask for a better location!
Hotel has no air conditioning so when the temp reaches 30 degrees it is very uncomfortable. There was a fan in the room which was helpful but didn't provide the relief needed. We also stayed when the renovations had just started and the loud work would commence at 7:00 a.m. While we understand the need to get the project done, they may have wanted to consider their existing guests.
Excellent central location, convenient for public transport
The staff was very helpful and tried their best to solve any problem as best they could. Worked endlessly trying to get wifi to work.
WIFI did not work. In this high Tech age, spend some Euro's and get a decent system!
Excellent breakfast, customers served with love, excellent location, in the heart of the city and near top sightseeings, restaurants and stores.
Noise. In the same building there is a bar and it's very busy till 1am.
Location was right in the middle of everything. We had a room in the back so it was quiet. I'd stay there again.
Only 1 person was allowed on the wifi at a time. The beds were a bit hard. Small bathroom but good shower.
Smallness of room
