A 2-minute walk from the Marienplatz Square and the Hofbräuhaus Brewery, this hotel in the center of Munich features a free spa, a 16th-century restaurant, and soundproof rooms with flat-screen TVs.
Score from 1779 reviews Wonderful
This quietly located, 3-star Superior hotel in Munich’s Old Town is just a 3-minute walk from the famous Marienplatz square. It has air-conditioned rooms and free high-speed Wi-Fi.
Score from 1017 reviews Very good
This hotel is located at the Sendlinger Tor Gate in Munich’s Old Town. Motel One features free Wi-Fi, designer rooms and a trendy lounge offering 24-hour drinks and snacks.
Score from 1121 reviews Excellent
An Italian restaurant with a terrace and traditional-style rooms are offered by this family-run, 3-star hotel in central Munich. Sendlinger Tor Underground (subway) station is 100 yards away.
Score from 1791 reviews Good
Some room have been recently refurbished.
The aiconditioner in the room 411 was really noisy. Also, only the wall of the next building can be seen from this room window.
Close to downtown. Restaurants and traditional bars near by.
Difficult to see TV in the (small) single room, as it hanged up in a unique direction :).
The best location you can get Nice & clean hotel Good breakfest
WiFi is disaster
Clean, comfortable and 2 blocks from the famous Hofbräuhaus München there is nothing else needed. I will stay there again when I go back.
Location. Breakfast was Good
Room size and bed is not comfortable, mainly the pillows.
loacation : very good, close to train station. walk within 5 mins breakfast : good
wifi : very poor @ room. only strong @ lobby & breakfast.
The hotel really is in the center of Munich and therefore perfect for visiting the city. We asked a room in the back of the hotel and got one( It is a very active street with artists and music band sometimes just on the other side of the street). The room and bathroom was big enough, clean and quiet. The breakfast buffet was magnificent.
Room is very very hot, even with the airco turned on.
1 block from S8 airport line station at Marienplatz. Clean, small rooms good breakfast buffet. Rooms have been recently updated with central air, new baths and double glazed windows, which are important when you are in one of the small rooms facing the street.
A bit of noise on street facing rooms.
Location is terrific, helpful staff, great breakfast
Tiny rooms, glass door from bathroom to main room, front rooms noisy
Fantastic location for visiting Munich. Staff was great. Breakfast offering was also very good.
As all hotels we stayed in, only option for bed covering was heavy comforter. We were too hot and could not open window due to city noise.
The location is excellent, if you're looking to be around the city center and the victualienmarket. Can't really be beat for that, and at a good price. A short walk from a major tube, and some good shops along Tal. After walking through the market it is just a two block walk to the 18 tram that takes you to the Englisher Garden (Tivolistrasse stop).
Room is smallish but efficient. WiFi was iffy -- up and down. The Tal-side room was noisy due to late night crowds. The upside to street side is that you can watch the city.
Get a back room; street noise is terrible.
Staff were courteous, and could not help enough. They were able to advise on restaurants, buses etc and even provided an umbrella when the weather was bad. The rooms were recently decorated and had everything to make a comfortable stay.
There was nothing really to criticise about the hotel. Munich does have a large number of churches so anyone wanting to sleep past 9 should consider a pair of earplugs as even with the windows closed they are very loud - but nothing that the hotel can be blamed for.
Poor internet connection.
The staff was helpful and pleasant, the location was excellent. I had two suitcases and found it very easy to take the train from the airport and walk to the hotel. Museums, stores, main attractions are all at walking distance. The breakfast was copious and the service very efficient.
I booked a room for a single occupant and although nothing was lacking, the space was very tight.
We were very happy with the hotel. You couldn't beat the location and the price was very reasonable considering we were right at the Marienplatz. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a large selection. We would definitely stay here again.
Breakfast was diverse and interesting. Hotel near to the Marienplatz.
CNN was the only English channel and reception was poor
The best breakfast ever!!!!!!
Nothing to dislike!
Very good location, friendly staff, private parking, AC.
1. The extremely helpful, well informed Staff. 2. The excellent Breakfast food and the inviting dining area. 3. The ideal location for shopping and sighseeing. 4. Herr Peter...a true professional 5. The over-all ambience of the entire hotel. 6. The large shower stall in the bathroom. 7. The fluffy, soft pillows 8. Coffee available all day in the lobby. 9. The spotlessly clean rooms 10. The 5 Star treatment afforded to to this guest at all times.
Happily, there is NOTHING that I did not like about the Hotel Schlicker. I was more than pleased with EVERYTHING. I WILL return next year!!!! BRAVO, Hotel Schlicker.
Breakfast was delicious. The room was beautifully decorated.
There are many enthusiastic bell ringers within a few meters of the hotel and since there's no AC you must leave the windows open. The place was under renovation so there were some early and late construction noise.

Very small room
Very tasty breakfast with excellent selection of Bavarian standards in a charming room. Staff were professional and helpful. Good location for sights and shopping in old town. Taxi queue right next to hotel. S Bahn station near.
Standard double room was quite small. AC seemed not to work at all (needed if one closed the windows). Street front room fun but extremely noisy with window open. Free WiFi appreciated but only one device supported per room.
