We did not know it was under renovation, I was hoping to leave my wife there, that she would enjoy a view and sit on the sun deck looking at the country side. Not possible with renovation, which was a surprise when we checked in. WiFi was not very dependable.

The great service e.g. hotel staff picked us up from the train station and took us back there. The food was great and the hotel was in a fantastic scenic location - a real gem of Germany!

Location was great to explore Black Forest by car and the view over the valley was incredible. The included breakfast buffet was excellent. Hotel staff was very friendly and spoke english very well. Just before we left, they gave us a short tour of their "dungeon" that they use for some events like a medieval dinner. We would definitely stay there again.

The Location, the facilities and the food was very good the choice at breakfast the evening meal was good value but could have done with more varierity. The staff were helpfull especially with suppling a fan for my wife.

No air conditioning, no lift. But we coped.

A charming renovated schloss with beautiful views of the town and the valleys from both the rooms and the restaurant. Plenty of outdoor space with a short trail to the remains of the old castle, and a playground for kids. There is also a beer garden, but it was not open during our stay. Our room was clean and large, but otherwise unremarkable except for the view. Food at the restaurant was very good, but the menu is a little limited. Staff are openly friendly and happy to help. For a family exploring the Black Forest, this hotel was perfect - kid friendly, attractive, and a very short drive to popular attractions such as the Vogstbauernhof Museum and Triberg Waterfalls.

They do not have an elevator. We were on the fourth floor (am dritten Stock, auf Deutsch) and even though they insisted on carrying our luggage to our room, it was still quite a hike up the stairs after dinner. A little worn around the corners, but that did not detract much from the charm. If you aren't driving, getting to the hotel will be a hassle.

The view was marvellous, the restaurant again had a beautiful view. We did a tour of the dungeons which were amazing and the chap who took us down there was very enthusiastic and informative. We got some lovely shots of our cars in ffront of the schloss. Breakfast in the morning we somehow managed to mess up the waffle maker even though we followed the instructions, a very nice smiley older lady came and sorted it all out and proceeded to make us new ones. Breakfast was good.

The staff seemed quite tired and not so cheerful as would be expected, however chatting to the barman we found that the night before they'd had a wedding for 250 people and they had been up all night which could explain. The dinner left a little to be desired however this was halfboard and reasonably priced. The hotel was a little tired but what you got for the price was good - and hey it was a castle!! We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. You get what you pay for.

What did I like? Everything. The location is superb, with views overlooking the three valleys. The staff were kind and attentive, and very tolerant of my attempts to speak German! Morris, the resident Retreiver, gives a homely feel to the place. The rooms are comfortable, clean and spacious. I would definitely stay here again.

Tea/coffee-making facilities in the room would be a nice addition. The lack of a lift might be a drawback for some visitors.

Il materazzo (camera 103) scomodo. Bagno troppo stretto; visto l'ampiezza della camera si poteva tenerlo largo 20-30 cm in più.

如果你想住城堡，想在山上眺望黑森林景色，那么这是一个不错的选择，酒店本身很有中世纪的感觉，早餐很丰盛- ，晚上酒店会有表演。

Wunderschöne Lage, sehr gutes Preis-leistungs- verhältnis, super leckeres Abendessen und Frühstücksbuffet, freundliches Personal. Das Schloßhotel ist nicht luxuriös ausgestattet,ein etwas älteres Gebäude....aber sehr schön und liebevoll eingerichtet...und super romantisch.... wir kommen wieder.... Fam. Mengert

Authentiek gebouw, mooi gelegen, ontbijt uitstekend, zeker op zondag!

Sommige kamers dienen gerenoveerd te worden, zeker de badkamer. Drie trappen hoog voor ouderen iets te veel. Eten goed, minder keuze, soep lauw.

Leuke locatie en uitstekende bediening

voor oudere mensen is er geen lift en de kopkussens waren een ramp maar dat is in duitsland regelmatig het probleem. Dus eigen kopkussens meenemen.

El entorno en medio del monte pero accesible. El desayuno estupendo y merece la pena cenar, comida regional a buen precio.

No tiene ascensor, yo comentaría en la reserva: habitación en el piso más bajo posible y con vistas a la fachada. Las taxas por persona/día son 1,20€ no 0,90 como ponía en booking.

Hieno hotelli, kauniilla paikalla. Sopii vaelluksesta pitäville, löytyy paljon reittejä. Ystävällinen palvelu, upeat maisemat, hyvät perustasoiset huoneet.

Struttura decisamente fatiscente!!! Moquette lercia, lampadari rotti, bagni minuscoli ricavati in camere che prevedevano il solo bagno in corridoio.

Mooie locatie. Kamer voldoende groot formaat en goede bedden.

Kamer gordijnen. Deze waren te kort waardoor er licht bleef binnenvallen en er inkijk mogelijk is voor de wandelaars. De luiken werkten niet , vast geroest. Het slot oogt een beetje naar achterstallig onderhoud. Ontbijtbuffet soortering was net voldoende , kan beter.

Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und entgegen kommend. Die Zimmer sind sauber und gut ausgestattet. Die Lage ist hervorragend für Ausflüge in den Schwarzwald.

Renovierungsarbeiten am Haus. Kein Hinweis darauf auf der Webseite. Preis - Leistung beim Essen passt nicht.
