I feel like a bait-n-switch was pulled. I booked a suite online here, but it was not the suite I was given. In my opinion, properties such as this should be required to list unique suites individually; or perhaps that's an issue with Booking.com. Regardless, I feel, for the price paid, I should have been given the suite pictured online, especially since were evidently the only guests on the third floor during our stay. I would also note, upon arrival, we were escorted to our room with no explanation about services offered, other then breakfast in the morning. I had to call for WiFi access, and then it didn't work very well. I could only get WiFi on my Android phone. We could not access the internet on our laptop, or the i-phone. For the price paid, I expected lounging robes, wash cloths, and perhaps a few little extras that would have set this place apart from other places. The floor creaked loudly with every step, and I felt sorry for anyone staying in the room below us. The shower head was broken; cheap plastic fittings. Overall, a bit of a disappointment.
The Schloss Hotel is, of course, a very old building. There is a certain charm about it after all. It is located on the banks of Lake Konstanz. There is a dock handy for catching a ferry, and the train station is only a 10-15 minute walk through town. Breakfast is pretty average fare. It was all fresh, but I've had better at cheaper hotels.
