Grand old style hotel. Comfortable. Interesting history. Nice setting.
Arriving with young children & suitcases, would have been nice for the staff to offer assistance with the bags Outside steps / Reception us 1 floor further up / We were located 2 another 2 floors up - with a pram this is impossible, should have been mentioned in their advert (that there is no elevator) No amenities at all apart from the restaurant
Historic building. The public, reception rooms were wonderfully atmospheric.
The bedrooms were a bit tired and dated (1980s feel). No lift (understandable given the historical significance of the schloss) and several flights of stairs (even to get to the reception desk) means that this would not suit the elderly or infirm.
Stunning building and grounds. On main bus route into town. Receptionist very helpful.
This is an extremely fine hotel. Wonderful staff, fine dining of high quality and wonderful rooms. Honestly can't fault this place. I stopped over driving from Denmark to Brussels and it was a treat of a rest!
The wifi is ok but complicated - you need to log in every time you've been off it. With one code per device. Not so much a minus as an information for future guests: You can't enter the hotel ground by car via the physical address. You need to enter by a side road. Call hotel in advance for exact info.
The Wilkinghege is a very nice manor house hotel. The staff was helpful and friendly, the room was nice and the food was great. Our only problem was that we just stayed one night.
Wifi is very weak and quite often it doesn't work.
Best hotel in Münster
The grounds and facilities are gorgeous. Attention is given to every detail. You can pay to rent a bike and bike some of the small paths and farm areas surrounding the hotel. The breakfast buffet is excellent and very much "fine dining." The price (off season) was a good deal for such high quality lodging. The staff is top-notch and attentive.
The parking is right under/next to the annex, so any noise of cars coming in and doors opening/closing did disturb the peace a bit. Also, this was probably just an accident, but the clock radio in my room had been set with the alarms to go off at midnight, which they did and I couldn't easily figure out how to switch off.
This is the best hotel we’ve ever stayed in. The charm of this hotel (a real castle), its comfort, the friendliness and efficiency of its personnel, the possibility to have a walk in the park, its restaurant with a limited number, but sublime dishes – a tribute to German hospitality. A highly recommended destination.
This hotel is absolutely lovely. Set in its own grounds and surrounded by a moat. Our room was in the annex. It was very spacious, on a split level. The lounge & bathroom on the lower level, the bedroom up a few stairs to the upper level. We had dinner at the hotel which was served outside and was first class. It's a long time since we've had such excellent food. Breakfast was equally as good, also served inside or out. Would go back again and could recommend it to anyone.
Beautiful moated castle. Awesome breakfast. Great staff. Close to town. Bike paths.
Can't think of a thing.
Staff were very helpful and friendly, no request was a problem. Restaurant is superb, highly recommend set gourmet 6 course menu. The breakfast had a wide range and special requests such as fried eggs were promptly produced.
The chateau cannot have a lift due to its heritage listing necessitating the tiresome climbing of stairs. It also means that there is no air conditioning causing the room to be warm - but we were there in unusually hot weather. The internet code needs to be changed daily and you must disconnect one device to connect another.
One of the best hotels'
Helpful staff Beautiful surroundings Huge, comfortable room
There wasn't a huge selection for breakfast, but it was still perfectly acceptable. Can't think of any negatives!
Very handy location for a night en route from UK to Sweden. Nice setting and very near to Münster. Restaurant was full and we didn't want room service, so we took a taxi into town which was quite convenient.
Excellent restaurant, beautiful and peaceful atmosphere.
Beds are not as comfortable as we expected.
Dinner in the restaurant
Our suite was rather stuffy even with the windows open
Excellent breakfast, with plenty of everything - including eggs, fresh bread and fruit as well as delicious yoghurt. We had dinner twice in the restaurant. Food as well as service was excellent.
I had higher expectations of the suite we were in (room 22), based on the pictures of - apparently - the other suites. It was a bit noisy too. Nothing worth complaining about though.
the hotel is great, old fashion, quite comofortable and clean. the food at the restauran is really good, really good, best ever higly recommendable. the staff was great also no complains.
Internet was not the best because you cant more than one device at the same time with one code. plus every day you need to request a new code.
Staff were incredibly helpful. Hotel had cotbed for my son Rooms were large and very clean Great food
Lots of stairs everywhere, which was challenging when carrying child and luggage! Help was available but not until i got to the reception on the 1st floor( 2 flights of stairs from courtyard). Rooms i stayed in were a little dated, even if bathrooms were new.
